Hello and welcome to the TIOON7 happy thread. On Saturday we visit the town of Brentford in West London. ‘Fun’ Facts: On the instructions of Henry VIII, part of the common land north of the High Street was commandeered for archery practice and by 1596 this area was known as the Butts. The Great West Road opened in 1925, precipitating a new wave of industrial development. Brentford’s ‘golden mile’ of art deco factories, built by the likes of Smith’s crisps and Maclean’s toothpaste, prompted JB Priestley to liken a drive along the Great West Road to a vista of California. Griffin Park, the home of Brentford FC for 116 years, was the only English soccer league ground to have a pub at each of its corners Brentford's nickname is "The Bees".The nickname was unintentionally created by students of Borough Road College in the 1890s, when they attended a match and shouted the college's chant "buck up Bs" in support of their friend and then-Brentford player Joseph Gettins. Local newspapers misheard the chant as "Buck up Bees" and the nickname stuck. The Game: We go into this full of confidence, knowing that 3 points would finally put the talk of relegation to bed. We also have more incentive now as Bompey are looking to renew their fake, made up rivalry now they have been promoted back to the Premier League. Only Tino seems to be absent from the Saints so we may get to see a potent front two again of Che and Shane. I know that Brentford are worried about them – especially as late on we still have Adam Armstrong on the bench. JWP will be out to impress, before his £15m move to Spurs, to be paid over 10 years. I admit to knowing not a lot about the Bees, except that they now have Christian Eriksen playing for them. Good signing that, not sure why no one suggested it on here. Ref/VAR/Someone to blame: Referee:Michael Salisbury. Assistants:Lee Betts, Mark Scholes. Fourth official:Jonathan Moss. VAR:Lee Mason. Assistant VAR:Wade Smith. So my prediction – An easy victory, where we are calm with no drama. It’s the Southampton way and long may it continue.

We could do with a win here. Just to make sure. Even a point will do. If we lose then I will start to be scared about a ridiculous relegation occurring
If they can be arsed they will win, if they can’t we will draw. Draw will suit both so assume that is what it will be
Well technically if he has been to 18 out of 20 grounds in the PL, there are 2 missing? Or did he say 18 out of the 19 away grounds #pedant
I just counted I've been to only 6 - though been to the old Brentford, City, Brighton, West Ham, & Spurs grounds.
No7 is right... 18/20 Spurs and West Ham are the missing two, albeit I went to both their old grounds (went to Griffin Park too actually). Could really do with Luton coming up in play offs tbh. Or a relegation next season
Will tick off the Spurs ground in October to take me up to 14 I think. Not to watch football though so dunno if that counts
Lawro has us down to win (2-1), so this may be the final straw in our attempt to get something from the game. Depending on how you view your metaphors, it could be the straw that breaks the camel's back, or the straw that holds together our leaky defence. I'm usually a happy clapper, sunshine all the way, fan, but the best I can muster is to hope for a draw. Probably
