Brentford v Swansea City Competition - Sky Bet Championship Date - 8 December 2018 Kick off - 3pm Venue - Griffin Park Following their 2-1 defeat at Pride Park to Frank Lampard’s Derby County, next up for Graham Potter’s increasingly beleaguered squad, is a visit to Brentford, where the Swans will be hoping to avoid a fourth consecutive League defeat. Harry Wilson's brilliant brace for Derby County condemned Swansea City to a third successive league defeat for the first time since 2009. However, Frank Lampard's Rams stayed seventh in the table after a third win in five while Graham Potter saw his men drop two places to 13th. Wales forward Wilson's hit both from outside the box, the second after Oli McBurnie's defensive slip. A Fikayo Tomori own goal gave the visitors late hope, but it was in vain. Two days later, Brentford's Lewis MacLeod scored a stoppage-time equaliser to stun West Bromwich Albion in the Championship. Substitute MacLeod headed in Emiliano Marcondes' cross, earning the Bees a point in a game dominated by the Baggies. West Brom missed numerous gilt-edge opportunities before Harvey Barnes gave them a second-half lead, firing his eighth goal of the season into the top corner from 12 yards. But MacLeod made sure Brentford avoided a seventh defeat in eight games since Thomas Frank took over from Dean Smith in October, with a composed finish of his own. The Bees are four points clear of the relegation zone in 17th. The Swans have played the Bees on 81 occasions, winning 30, losing 29 with 22 drawn. In fact, the Swans have not lost any of the last 6 encounters, winning 5 and drawing 1. Their last defeat was on Boxing Day 2005 when they went down 2-1 at Griffin Park, with Alan Tate being dismissed in the 24th minute. Andy Robinson netted a 90th minute consolation for the Swans: Turning to Saturday, a have a feeling that Brentford will even up the head to head record with a 2-0 win. Hope I’m wrong
It’s hard to see where the next win is coming from with six defeats in the last nine games. Brentford are just as bad as us so it’s anyone’s guess who’ll win this match. We can’t score and we can’t defend, and our midfield is weak, a recipe for disaster. We randomly chop and change players and their positions, no wonder we are in disarray. The last manager to do this was Bob Bradley, say no more.
Exactly like the last 4 games where with some proper strikers that can finish and are more on target than once in twenty shots we can win the game.....Until we do replace our strikers with much better then yet again i can only hope we can win.....
