Liverpool fan here, big respect for Rodgers. I like what he has done for you guys and I would love to see his style of play at Anfield someday. But have to say that I think he has made the right decision here, he has something good with you guys and unlike most he realises that he needs more experience at the top level. Best of luck next season....hope you guys are just as great to watch as you were last season.
Cheers, Zingy. A lot of us have got a soft spot down here for Liverpool, what with the Toshack era and all that, and the way the Club helped us out when we were facing oblivion. Never a fan of Dalglish and I think the Club will be better with his departure - sacrilege I know, but I'm not a scouser! Glad that Rodgers isn't leaving us just yet. I think he needs to prove himself for at least one more season, possibly more, before he's ready for a crack at one of the big boys. He realises that and it's gratifying to know that money and kudos are secondary considerations. If this is true then he's proved himself an honourable man, having only just signed a three year deal with us. Looks like we're close to a deal for Siggurdsson and we're going to strengthen in some key areas, but we won't be splashing the cash too much. Our Chairman is likely to have palpitations over the Siggy deal! Good luck for next season, and in your search for a new manager.
Where have you heard the news Zingy ?? last i heard was that he was to be approached by Liverpool ! I must say that Liverpool may be a career killer for Brenden or Martinez, **** up there and they will probably never get a chance at a big club ever again. Rodgers has always stated he is ambitous, but he has also said that he is not money motivated and knows he still has alot to learn, you never know in football but i get the feeling that Brenden will stay here for another season or 2 then move on to bigger things, right manager wrong time for Liverpool job though. I hope you get benitez back, always rated him and anyone who can build a team to break Barca and Real madrid must have something about him!! i think his last few years at Liverpool were blighted by the owners and he received no backing at the crucial times, could do a great job with proper support from FSG
