Watching MOTD2 tonight Brendan's future was again mentioned. What are peoples views on this, is anyone in the know. What does the future hold?

He's staying. There is no way he would plan for next season and then up and go, he is not that kind of person.

I recon he will stay for now.
Hopefully we can keep hold of Vorm, Williams and Dyer as well as Glyfi and maybe Caulker.

    New signings should include
    CB/RB/LB -a utility man
    CM
    CF

We don't know do we? We've debated this recently and my own view is that Spurs would be bonkers to take him on. Even if they don't make CL they clearly have aspirations to do so and he just doesn't have the experience yet. Coppell did brilliantly with Reading in their first season then got them relegated the next. Apparently the fans are not keen either and I understand why.

He'd also be mad to go. Lose a run of games with them in your first season and you're out. So much for building a career.

But it could happen. Stranger things have.

This is all conjecture, maybe's and maybe not's.

Nobody knows what goes on in the minds of football players and managers apart from them. What price would you have got on Rooney leaving Man Utd after the contract debacle and the Fergie fall-out? But he stayed!

    What will be will be.

I still believe that he isn't ready for a team fighting for the top 4, as the only team that look like they will lose their manager above us in the league this summer is Spurs. He makes mistakes with us, some dodgy substitutions and at times there is a lack of Plan B. This, at times this season has cost us points but he can be forgiven for this as we were hotly tipped for relegation....it wont be forgiven so easily if you are tipped for a top 4 finish. Couple of seasons time he will learn from his mistakes, i imagine he will learn from them over this summer and be an even better manager next season...but with us :)

This sums it up perfect for me. This season might have been a fluke, who knows !! Spurs dont know if we got lucky or not and i suspect they wouldnt take the chance because of this .

Anyway ,with Barca being "found out" rodgers will now be out of fashion again...yipee ;)

If he does go, I would like to go after De Matteo.

Chelsea should get him to sign a contract now for what he has done for them.

    just came in via reuter....

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is set to accept the England job with Spurs lining up Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers as his replacement.

Rogers has been informally sounded out by third parties representing the north London club and the early indications are that he could be interested in succeeding Redknapp at White Hart Lane.

Goal.com understands that Tottenham will not make a formal move for Rodgers until the Football Association approach them about Redknapp, but Tottenham are preparing for a new management team.

so its know wonder brendan is quiet as he had been sounded out on if he is interested in the spurs job or not......odds on he will be spurs boss next season with certain people...

you didn't say he has been sounded out by spurs (approached in other words) to see if he is interested or not......apparently he is interested.........that does not mean by the way he will get the job.......we will know very soon anyway and i would put it 70%-30% if offered he will take the job...

of course he will take it its a step up the ladder for him......but where does that leave us? I hope to god that jenkins knows his attentions so he can sound out possible managers because if he hasn't then that will put us in a bit of a problem. we will have no manager in place and teams will be coming in for our top players, I dont want to hear from jenkins that we cant get a manager because they are on holiday like before because we cant afford to wait until the season is upon us and nothing has been done. you need to get in early for players or they will go elsewhere. I dont care what rodgers does but he must make it known well before the season finishes on his intentions so We can make sure we are not going to be left managerless in the most important time of pre season.
