So Swansea will really struggle next year. They began to seem a little like a one trick pony by the end of last season any how.. Not convinced by Brendan Rodgers credentials myself.....

Be fair he did a great at swansea and i for one am glad a good young british manager is getting a crack at a decent job .I'm sure Liverpool fans will be happy if they start passing the ball as well as swansea.

I do see this as being a tough time for the swans and the pretty football may just go out of the window with a new boss that may scupper their side.

Liverpool have basically relegated Wigan and Swansea now.

Swansea won't get a better manager and Wigan will be unsettled by all the Martinez speculation and are bound to lose Moses, Diame and other key players

Swansea shouldn't be in the English Premier League anyway. Its as ludicrous as foreigners (incl Irish) appearing on Britains Got Talent.

Trouble is Swansea kept the ball and the bigger teams (which of course are 2/3rd of the league) had to open themselves up to try and get the ball off them.

With Liverpool, 2/3rds of the league will be quite happy to get a 0-0 off them every games so the bore them to death tactics wont work at Liverpool.

He might go off to Aston villa. Either way its hard to stay at your job when youve made it clear you want to talk to other clubs.

Totally agree that's why I'm sure Wigan will go down even if he stays. If he isn't going to be part of the long term project then why should the players have to be? Same with Swansea.

Is that what Roman says to all of his managers?

Sorry - but I really couldn't resist that one!!

I reckon we are virtually safe now.
With Swansea and Wigan already relegated it will be between Aston Villa and Reading for 18th place.

I reckon you'll get midtable, around 11th-12th. Relegation shouldn't be a worry now as Hughes will have a good pre-season and will make some signings to strengthen, the most important thing this season was just staying up as you successfully did.

Wherever Martinez goes it will be the consolation prize. Even if he stays at Wigan and bangs on about loyalty he will always have "what if?" at the back of his mind.

Still, at least he cranked up some decent air miles with all the trips to Boston but he must be sick and tired of peanuts by now.

He has always been linked with Villa but unless they allow him to spend some cash he is doomed with the squad they have there. Bent was supposed to have Tweeted that he was fighting fit for inclusion in the Euro 2012 squad despite having spent months on the treatment bench with no view to a return during the season. Does he think there is another big money move on the horizon? Does he even bother unpacking his suitcase these days?

Has anyone 'linked' us with Bent? No? Then add him to the Transfer Speculation thread!!!

I can see Martinez going back to Swansea after all he started their recent success and their style of play I think it is a perfect match and Swansea will not go down either.

I think he'll do well at Liverpool, they want to play good possession football, with Swansea, no disrespect to the players, he needed a little more movement and creativity. It's all good passing the ball around but you need the players to spot the openings when they occur which they should have this at Liverpool or least have the ability to bring in players to do it.

Kerry, that's the most ludicrous thing I think I've ever heard.

Rodgers is a good choice for Liverpool. Maybe they've finally realized they're not a big Club anymore.

Or Villa go for Lambert, and Norwich find themselves in the cow manure

Rumour is Louis Van Gaal will be Liverpool's Director of Football, that was the reason Martinez didn't get the job, he wanted to be No.1, I think Rodgers may find Van Gaal difficult to work with as he has an ego the size of a house...

May be right, but it contradicts what I heard on the BBC about an hour ago, that there would be no Director of Football, and Rogers will be El Supremo.

if Lambert joins the managerial merry go round Norwich could also get sucked into the relegation dogfight..
just glad we are watching it from the security of mid table..
by the time the season starts i cant see those clubs at the bottom catching us..
