I see that Brendan is chasing Joe Allen from the Swans, What happened to the "I won't take any of their players" promise?

He is only 1 year into a 4 year deal at Swansea.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18909809

I am surprised that he is doing it as I thought it was put into his new contract with Liverpool that he could not sign any players from Swansea? He already cocked up the Sigurdson deal for them, he had personal terms agreed and everything. Then Brendon piped up and that got Spurs interested and the deal fell apart.

He just goes around unsettling thier players and waits for another club to make a bid and then jumps in, what a knob.

If I was a Swans fan I would be getting a little peeved.

They are getting more than a little peeved! There are also some people over there who think they will reject 20m for him <laugh>

It seems that the agreement is basically useless, popular legal opinion (according to the swans board) is that if Joe Allen wants to go to Liverpool, Swansea are ****ed. I wouldn't want to see him leave, but i don't think 20m would be th end of the world!

Michu looks a capture and could replace Joe Allen in my opinion, I would take it if I were them. I think Leon Britton is there best player anyway.

Michu/Allen isn't a straight swap at all! I agree he will be a tremendous signing but they're completely different players, he's more of a replacement for Gylfi.

Swansea fans genuinely seem to think 15-20m should be the asking price... I rate Pilkington around the same (maybe more) and would probably take 10m for him!

They're apparently using Liverpool's signing of Henderson as a yardstick! To be fair Allen should be worth more than Henderson!

They're probably right to and with that in mind Allen's worth £30mill to Liverpool, and a heck of a lot less to everyone else!

yeah, michu would replace sigurdsson. i think allen is an extremely promising player, really good but £20m? madness - £8m would be pushing it but about right in today's market - how ever much must howson, pilkington, etc be worth?!?!

If Liverpool are interested in your players you have to take them to the cleaners which I hope Swansea do...

20m on Downing, 20 on Henderson, 35 on Carroll...if they wanted Howson I'd want 30m so they are right about Allen. Fcuk them over Swans!

Fair enough, I actually thought Joe Allen played fairly attacking. I think I got that one wrong.

Who played in Gylfi's role the first half of season? McEachran didn't play very often if I remember.

jeez you've got to wonder if he goes for £20m, will he be the new 'andy carroll' - a young player with a huge price tag attached?

Dobbie played a couple of games, McEachran played a couple, they even dropped Bodde in a couple of times. Didn't really have a consistent player there, and didnt even always play with that kind of player. Sometimes they preferred a 4-4-2 with Graham + Lita

Fair enough, forgot about Dobbie. Ferrie Bodde is better playing deeper though as a deep lying playmaker, I think he suits it. I suppose th Britton role.

Yeah, he wasn't a terrible player, but I think the prem was a stretch too far (a bit like Crofts, maybe). Unlucky with injuries too! I'm looking forward to watching them again next season, especially with De Guzman and Michu! There seems to be a lot of Swans fans thinking Sinclair will leave, but they don't know where... I can't really think who might want him tbh. 4-2-3-1 is a Laudrup special though so Dyer-Michu-Sinclair is something we might see a lot of!

ah. I didn't really think he gave the best account of himself last season, but at least he didn't lose it as often as Dyer!

Well he wouldn't have been overpaid at Swans, I bet PL is starting to wonder!

De Guzman is a great player remember him when he was at Feyenoord, was shocked when I read Villereal got relegated. I don't follow Spanish League that much so was pretty surprised.

I think that had a lot to do with that striker (who's name escapes me) being hideously injured, and the fact they had a long UEFA cup campaign. Feel bad for them!
