I'm not sure Klopp is going to be available vis a vis his contract with Dortmund. It would be dramatic and a huge gamble to fire Rogers without a bona fide replacement already lined up. Let's face it ... they have nobody internally that I would trust to assume control on Rogers' departure.

Dai - if Liverpool were owned by locals, then I suspect that you would be correct. However, Fenway Group probably regards Liverpool as an investment - an investment on which they would want to make the maximum return as quickly as possible. As such, if they believe Klopp or whoever can "deliver" then Brendan could very well be vulnerable.

I was reading comments by Liverpool fans PRIOR to the match when the teams were announced and the vast majority were wondering what the fu&% Rodgers was doing and if he had a clue. There again losing 50 odd goals men is obviously a hard task to replace but the major concerns seemed to be the selection of Lovren and Johnson and the omission of Can. Even a few now wondering if Stevie G's time at Anfield is coming to an end as he has indicated no contract offer has been made and he is willing to move.

Well some one better tell the owners , he's wasted 120 million (less Joe's fee obviously ) ,they're no better and don't forget they sacked a Club legend to bring him in , yeah sure he's untouchable <doh> .They play no better than any other team ,no style or substance and more importantly for some ,no results .

I agree Staff. I don't expect Brendan to go soon but if they miss out on a CL spot then he could well go at the end of the season.

Rogers should do some answering for paying 15 million for a bench warming Allen while stumbling past a well needed Bony at 19 million , its been a blunderful life for Rogers at times in the transfer market ...a zig here when it should have been a zag there.

He gambled on Balotelli doing a better job than Bony.Had Bony gone to Liverpool, there's no guarantee he would have been a success either.

    You roll the dice...

I hope Brendan, who took us to the Premier League and was always up front that he would go to a bigger club given the chance unlike 2 of our previous managers, manages to turn things round at Liverpool.

Bringing a troubled player( Balotelli ) amongst a team that just finishing enduring Suarez's antics makes the bypassing of the Bony deal even more head scratching .Bony would have brought Liverpool not only a superb player but a very classy one ...between paying a lot for Allen and bypassing Bony for Balotelli , Rogers is either making bad decisions or being made to .

He nearly won the premiership last season so it's a bit premature to call for his head because balotelli has not produced the goods he was bought for. How is it rodgers fault he is a flop. Fans unnecessary go overboard calling for a managers head when results are not coming,...Look at newcastle for instance and look how well rodgers has turned liverpool around from kennys time and before that. You have to have a good striker to produce the goods like suarez was and unfortunately Balotelli is not doing what we know he can do for whatever reason. Come january rodgers will have to fix the problem and he is good enough to do that.

To answer Dai'a post ... Rogers is the manager, so whether he is making the transfer decisions or the Director of Football he reports to or collaborates with, Rogers is the face of the fiasco and is ultimately resposible for getting value out of the player in training and on the field. Balotelli is really much a do about nothing. He is no where near the same league as the player he replaced, which may be unfair on him, but that's the hole he jumped into. As others have stated, hiow will the owners see it.

A question for you guys, first put aside your obvious dislike for the guy as I would like an honest response.

Correct me when wrong here but he did very well with Swansea and you played good football under him (yes you did before and have done after) from what I remamber you controlled games other than very fast attacking football and you also didn't conceded many?

So what has happend to Rodgers in your opinion? Why are we playing so badly? Personally I don't think it's the players but the system and tactics, yes there are gaps in the squad at Center Back and obviously up top.

Rogers did everything on the cheap at Swansea , with results , soon as he signed Allen for 15 million I knew he was in trouble , the access to money got to him . Saurez , no matter the man he is , is the only thing to keep Liverpool close to success .Now that he's gone , its a sink or swim scenario for Rogers ....all ahead full ..

Don't dislike the guy to start with. Plays favourites. I watched your match v Palace four times today - an interesting comment by a commentator was that Rodgers is quoted as saying it will always be 4-3-3 or at a pinch 3-5-2. Defence is woeful, why did Palace have 2 unmarked players on Mignolet at corners several times and nothing was done about it. To be fair losing Suarez is a tough gig, Balotelli is pants and as mentioned above a rumour is you are in for the Porto captain in January, see what happens.

Is it me or is your midfield short? (as in not tall).

I think he or whoever bought the wrong players in the summer. Mate I could go on for ages but I am sure others will have their own opinions.

    cheers

I don't dislike Rodgers or Liverpool , maybe because he squeezed another season out of Suarez he ( and kudos for that ) he may have thought he could help in getting Balotelli to play to his potential ,bearing in mind more experienced managers have tried before him with not a great deal of success. When he was with us he didn't have to do a great deal in terms of playing style as the ground work had been prepared well before even Martinez imo. but what he did do was bring in the likes of Sinclair and Fabio in his 1st season and Vorm Graham and Siggy to complement an already steady ship. what he's tried to do at Liverpool is to firstly try to getting them playing in a style similar to ours with players who aren't weren't used to it and now realising he needs to adapt to the majority of the squad abilities it seems he's now stuck between the two with no improvement overall. Last season with both Sturridge and Suarez scoring for fun the signs still looked ominous as you were still conceding and now without that scoring threat he's gone and gambled on a player who I hope I'd never see in a Swansea shirt .I hope he succeeds he was great for us and I do miss that more percussion based game which at times was a joy to watch
