Smacks of ‘football started in 1992’ mentality but maybe had we finished runners up in say the 80’s it may get more considered whereas that was a longgggg time ago
I know football didn't start in '92 but I think we know what he meant. We all moan about those clubs living in the past and pulling in a league position from 1929 is really stretching past glories
I mean, I’ve been a fan all my life (28 years old) and didn’t know anything about the 28/29 season so I can excuse him...
Whilst I was only a kid during the decade, we did quite well in the 60s finishing 6th, 7th and 8th ...
Good job this forum wasn't running in the season where we had the big freeze! As I remember, we kept playing our home matches due to that inflatable cover over the pitch and I think we had quite a lead at the top of the table by the time other teams got going, but gradually our lead slipped away and we had a poor finish. Another 'nearly' season.
That was a few years after the big freeze of 1963. Did Weller's missus ever find out where the tights came from?
