After having his contract terminated a year early at Fulham apparently for not commiting his future to them. Strange one when they could have got an ok fee.

Any takers? He lacks pace but hes a level abve oshea in my opinion id definately have him.

Why on earth would he be behind JOS, he's superior in every department!

Can't see him leaving London in reality like. West Ham.

Any team outside the top 7 would take him. Even then, he could probably waltz into the Man Utd defence at the moment.

<laugh> I knew that would get your attention. No I am being serious. Even now he is better than Jones and Smalling. As Newcastle are not in the current top seven, then I believe I already implied he would be in our first team. He'd replace Williamson and I am of the opinion I could cherry pick anyone off this board and they would do a better job than him!

Haha I knew you'd know that'd get my attention!

I don't rate him, doesn't mean I highly rate United's defence either, nor did I state he's not good enough, I just think we could get better than him although I'd have accepted him on his form a few years back with open arms.

I reckon Williamson looked decent in a lot of games last season, him and MBanga Wamba Mango had a worldy partnership going on, then Pardews pet Perminator come back from injury and you started to leak goals again, apart from at Old Trafford where Moyes couldn't get us to score if our lives depended on it.

I have no doubt you'll sign defenders far superior to him. With Van Gaal as manager you will attract top, top players anyway. I envy you guys massively.

Perminator <laugh>. I shall be using that one! Williamson is decent with a good partner. He himself is very limited (like quite a few of our squad really).

I don't envy Van Gaal, he's got a massive job on his hands. Your owner is richer than ours, be nice to him he might treat you to some stars like Anderson and Bebe, I hear they're both available!

Hangeland seems pissed in that interview mind, not surprised his form has dipped if he's that upset, maybe he'll rediscover himself. Who was that fella that used to play for you that ended up leaving and turning into a monk? Hahaha he was your best defender as well.

Cracking player with only age going against him - O'Shea wasn't a bad player at Utd - in fact he was very highly thought of - then he came here!

Hangelaand with Brown would again leave us short of pace at the back. BUt I have always thought he was a cracking centre half

Proper defender who'll stick his mush on the end of someone's boot to stop a goal. Not Gus's style though, not a ball player except for into row Z to clear his lines.
