BREAKING NEWS: Bristol City close to signing Karleigh Osborne on permanent basis.. Bristol City are âvery closeâ to completing the signing of defender Karleigh Osborne on a permanent basis from Millwall. Former Brentford star Osborne joined City on loan from the Lions at the start of November and has impressed new manager Steve Cotterill, who hopes to make him his first signing since taking charge last month. Talks with Millwall are at an advanced stage and Osborneâs permanent switch to Ashton Gate will be announced by Monday at the latest. Meanwhile, his loan remains in place until January 5 and he has been given permission to play for City in Saturdayâs home FA Cup third round tie against Watford. Cotterill confirmed: âWe are very close to doing a deal to bring Karleigh in permanently. âMillwall have been very good and Karleigh is available to play at the weekend. We are still talking, but I expect the deal to be done soon.â City will pay an undisclosed fee for Osborne, who is in the final year of his contract at Millwall. We are also expected to sign someone else. Believed to be a striker and rumours are its Maynard on loan... Cant see that though. Still though all good news especially Osborne signing
Let's hope he continues to play well after being given a contract - it is good news though Would be gob-smacked if Maynard came back - there again nothing that happens in football should surprise us
The best thing is he's only 25, been playing regularly since he was 18 for Brentford, so he's young with experience. Perfect
http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Bristo...ill-make-new/story-20392570-detail/story.html Osborne plus 2 according to this!!
There's no way in hell Maynard is coming back. He'd be a ****ing fool to come back to us! He was making the sub bench for Cardiff, and probably would feature at some point under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The only reasonable explanation would be one of his famed hissy fits at not playing, but at Cardiff City he could have no excuse. He got injured (again) and they signed a replacement. That replacement is now higher in the pecking order than him. If he did come back, he'd be more than good enough to keep us in the division.
'all good news especially Osborne signing' - Spot on. Like everything about Osborne. Strong, good in the air and a great desire/attitude. Maynard always seems injured but can't see him ever coming back after the sh*t he gave us when he left. Baldock isn't close to Maynard but we need strengthening in other areas.
