http://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/article/20130523-seasonticketprices-832347.aspx City reveal reduced prices for new campaign. City have launched their 2013/14 season tickets prices with at least a five per cent reduction â along with brand new Under-8 and Under-18 categories. As City gear up to come back stronger in League One next season, Sean OâDriscoll will once again be banking on the fanbase to support their local team. In an e-mail to supporters, sent today from the head coach, he outlines his vision to âbuild a team you can be proud ofâ. OâDriscoll says: âSupporters need hope, honesty and a reason to believe in their club. Supporters want to be proud of their club, identify with their club, feel part of their club. Most of all supporters simply just want to enjoy going to football. âIt's our responsibility, as your football club, to try to make sure all of that happens. So how do we plan to do it and be competitive in the 2013-14 season? âOur vision is to build a team you can be proud of, a team that entertains, a team you look forward to coming to watch play. âOur vision is for what happens on the field to be reflective of a reinvigorated culture within the whole football club; a culture that is vibrant, decisive, respectful and supportive.â OâDriscoll cites the developments within the clubâs five pillars â recruitment, financial prudence, facilities, academy and community â that will help City trigger their potential. The head coach adds: âPeople need to have a genuine affection and respect for their local club and the club has to give back, especially through the work of the Bristol City Community Trust, which is already working with more than 50,000 people each year. âThis is why I'm here. This is the vision I bought into. This is why I'm excited about the potential next season holds.â With the new Under-8s category, Cityâs youngest supporters will be able to cheer on the team from anywhere in the ground for just £23, including in the dedicated Family Stand. Additionally, the long-running Under-16 category has now been extended into an Under-18 category to benefit more supporters than usual. City will be looking to reward loyalty better than ever before, whilst other popular added benefits remain, including away travel discount, 15% off in the BCFC Megastore, a free programme for a selected game and the opportunity to bring a friend to any one match for free, as well as free entry to all home under-21 and Bristol Academy fixtures in the FA Womenâs Super League. Kevin Smith, commercial director, said: âWe felt strongly that a reduction on all season ticket prices was the right thing to do for next season. âWe've listened to supporter feedback and have worked closely with our Fans Parliament to create a range of prices that we hope will be popular. âHopefully lower prices, combined with the introduction of a new price category for under-8s, and the extension of the junior price to include under-18s, will encourage supporters to renew their season ticket. âThe support last season was tremendous and despite the obvious disappointment of relegation, there is a really positive feeling ahead of next season.â Adult prices start from £235, with senior citizens set from £189, Under-21s just £159 and Under-18s £52. The new Under-8 category offers a season ticket for £23 â just £1 per game! Season tickets go on sale next Thursday (May 30th) by calling 0117 963 0600 or in person from Ashton Gate. Supporters should note purchases will not be available online to begin with due to the implementation of an innovative new system still being fine-tuned. Can never cocomplain about Eastend season ticket price, I would pay more, and did as 2007 it was £310. Access and pay on day should looked at, as there the club have lost money from myself every season x that by other fans and its fans substantial figure. Too much emphasis on season tickets.
Great Prices ? Who's kidding who. For me in the Williams there's nothing in it between this and last season - £24 less or basically £1 a game. However massive difference in football.
My initial thoughts are that the prices are sensible, bearing in mind that if they had been slashed it would not provide enough revenue to build up next season's push for stability and possibly a return to whence we have just left. I'm very pleased about the Under 8's and Under 18's prices as we must attract new young supporters and the prices will encourage parents to bring their children to matches. I'm not sure about all the hooha from Kevin Smith about the new "Incentive" scheme. It sounds as I've said before, too much like Green Shield Stamps and the Club will do well to remember that the only "Points Scheme" all the fans are interested in is the one that has existed ever since competitive football began:- Three Points for a Win and One Point for a Draw.
Reduction of £25 for me for league one football after watching that **** for the last 3 seasons.. And no free pie before 11.30 am either.. Cant say I'm jumping for joy this morning..
"Too much emphasis on season tickets" This I do agree with.. they are gonna need walk up on the day, not many are gonna pay £25 to do that..

Ok prices if we had stayed in the championship but should be a bigger reduction for league one. Players took a 40% cut in wages this season so think the fans could have got at least 20% off and put them back up once we get promoted. Its worrying when u can watch premier league football cheaper than watching us in third tier of english football.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/may/22/premier-league-ticket-prices-2012-13 Pricing of any product is usually dependent on the wage levels in the area, quality of product, and a whole host of factors. Interesting to see how different Premier clubs altered their prices up or down to attract more sales aand/or to increase revenue. I'm not sure if City really slashed prices, it would lead to a significant increase in revenue. Others have any thoughts?
If we had stayed in the Championship I doubt very much that there would have been any reductions at all, Plus with the 60% rule in force in L1 City will have to maximise their income from season tickets and matchday tickets in order to get the better players to sign for us it's swings and roundabouts if you want the team to attract a better standard of players, and boy o boy do we need to attract better players, you have to pay competative wages we don't have the massive parachute payments that Wolves have courtesy of their Premiership status a couple of years back, but even they are having some financial difficulties apparently with some people in the press saying they could get a points penalty for going into administration seems unlikely to me but what do I know of their financial situation. I can't see the benefits for the club in a huge slashing of prices all that would mean is a much reduced ability to pay wages and any transfer fees we need to cough up because I don't see huge numbers of extra fans demanding season tickets for L1 football which would be the only reason the club would have to do that. I do however think that if/when City get to the premiership with its huge TV revenue we might find that ticket prices are somewhat lower in relation to most Premiership sides especially id S O'D is still in charge as he likes to keep adding young players to his squads whilst selling some of his higher paid players if you look at what has happened at his previous clubs, which would tend to keep the wage bills down.
Having said that If I lived in Bristol I would be happy to pay £159 for my season ticket but atm it costs more than that to travel to Bristol for a single match
I will save £30 in Dolman C, all helps but expected a little more than this, I understand issues raised above, But this is L1!!
Rec'd the email from SOD. I'll be renewing my season ticket whatever. The picture of Bobby Reid on the email is there for fans to believe in SOD selecting the 'Young Guns' next year. However - Bet your life SOD will pick Kilkenny instead of Reid.
If Killa is still here he thinks of himself as a premiership player stranded in the NPC if any NPC club comes in for him we won't see him for dust.
