No surprise. Rich owner who sacks managers even when they achieve something, let alone have a bad run. I have a lot of respect for Chelsea and the way they play but this is just another example of the crazy manger merry-go-round that we've seen this season.
Anyone remember those halcyon days when Ferrie Bodde was seen in every Estate Agents office in Derby?
Mourinho, still has a house down near Chichester from his old Chelsea days. Not surprising that AVB gets sacked. Think they should have pulled out all the stops to get Hiddink there before the season started.
He tried to do in one season what it took the Swans 5 years to do. Won't work if you want continued success during the transitional period, unless you start off in a lower league or with an inferior group of players. Sad to see him go, but it's been coming for a while.
I don't think Villas-Boas would have been surprised, that's what you get for working for the KGB!................
mentioned on another thread that Jose had been seen in London, welcome back Kotter some chelsea players and fans may say
it wasnt an easy job to come into, if chelsea would have let ancelotti see out his contract and got AVB in 2012 they would have saved themselves the best part of £20m, plus VB would have had an extra years experience.... one posotive aspect of hiring and firing managers so readily is that once you find a good one, you stick with him and have success. they had that with mourinho and ancelotti but both were sacked. its abramovic' money and he is the reason chelsea are a big club nowadays, but its a strange decision considering they would have planned the next 3 years in terms of evolving the style and putting younger players in to the team. anyway, that 'plan' has been chucked in the bin, no doubt they will put someone else on a nice fat 3 year contract with another long term plan
