Thought it worthy of its own thread. Finally some movement. Dragan looking to reevaluate the football side of the business
Dragan Solak: "We will be strengthening our football management team in the near future, and we will share details of that as things are confirmed. Our aim was to stay in the Premier League and I know fans share in my frustration at how this season has gone so far."
From Solak: "We will be strengthening our football management team in the near future." I'm assuming that is a new DoF at last.
The man has spent alot of money and I disagree with those who says SR doesn't care and should get out...Solak has been let down by those around him
Good, Solak has acted. Glad to see someone on the board being held to account for the complete ****show.
Now Dragan, the next statement needs not to read: "We have decided that Rasmus Ankersen will return from Turkey to take full control at Southampton Football Club".
I know this won't go down well... but the only SR club doing well is Goztepe. Ankersen is their chairman. I'd be interested to hear what their fans think of him.
Its probably not ideal for him, we don't know the dynamic in the background, unsure how confident he is in running a football operation and he probably feels his hand has been forced. We can't begrudge him that he has fulfilled his end of the bargain and pumped significant money in only to watch it absolutely squandered by incompetence. Hard to imagine that his blood hasn't been boiling in the background, he has more reason to be pissed off than any of us. Glad he is showing this level of interest in coming in and getting his hands dirty, hope it works out.
Yeah, definitely seems that RA's priorities were 'realigned' by Solak in the summer and he was given a much more hands-on role with Goztepe, while Kraft and Parsons ran Saints. Solak's comments about being pleased with some of the management but disappointed by the football side suggests he thinks that Parsons is doing well on maximising the commercial potential (agreed) but Kraft's overall leadership of the club enabled a second incredibly disappointed PL season in three years (also agreed)
