I've just read this article in the Chronicle about 3 men who broke into SJP. Just thought I would stick it on here as I was amused by the comments on the bottom of the article.

    http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nort...-men-break-into-st-james-park-72703-28477448/

THOUSANDS of fans scrimp and save all year to pay for their tickets to matches at St James’ Park.

But these criminals chose to bypass the box office and the turnstiles to go on a jolly around the ground.

The trio smashed their way into the stadium early one Sunday morning.

And, once inside, they gave themselves a tour of the stadium.

Police do not know why the three trespassers decided to break into the home of Newcastle United, or exactly where they went.

But they were caught on CCTV cameras messing around in a function room at the deserted football ground and strolling out of the walkway. Nothing was stolen during the break-in, but the intruders caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage when they forced doors open to access various parts of the ground.

Police are still investigating the incident, which happened at around 6.20am on Sunday, March 20.

And they are today releasing these CCTV images of the men in the hope that someone will be able to identify them.

PC Steve Fairless, of Northumbria Police’s Newcastle Area Command, believes someone will probably know who is responsible and is urging anyone with any information to get in touch.

“No doubt there are people who know what happened and who is responsible,” he said.

“And I’d urge anyone with information to get in touch as it’s important we speak to the three involved.”

Anyone who witnessed the break-in, recognises the men in the pictures, or who knows who is responsible should contact police.

Call Northumbria Police on 03456 043 043 ext 69191 and ask for officers at Market Street Police Station in Newcastle.

Alternatively anyone with any information cam call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and give information anonymously.

    Comments

1)The police were also called to the Stadium of Light as 3 people were found on the premises. It was found however that it was a saturday afternoon and the 3 people in question were actually the crowd.

2)Stadium of light officals complained that locks on doors and windows were damaged as the people tried to escape!

There were other comments on the article but those above made me chuckle

I'm quite aware of that, but what has that got to do with the three people who were given the impossible task of discovering the newcastle trophy cabinet
