brb prediction league 2013/2014

Yes it really is that time of the season again. Time to start planning ahead for next season's brb prediction league and we hope a League One season.

Each year about this time, I ask Gills supporters what new rules we could implement for the forth coming season. However, after private discussions a new idea has been put forward by

With a previous recognised four supporter contributions, I believe the rules have been built to a level now that work so well, I would like to apply the same for next season but with the addition of this new idea.

So what is the new idea?

Firstly as with all good democracy it will be put to the vote. Only current members visible on the league table at this time can vote (Match 40 table), any other votes will be void but shown towards the final count.

The idea:

To make the brb prediction league an entry fee.

Shall we say £1 ?

Via something like paypal that I could get my son to set up.

ALL of the entry fee(s) will become prize money for the WINNER of the brb prediction league 2013/14.

The entry fee prize money could be distributed as cash or maybe a better option could be something as an award from the Gills Club Shop, such as a team shirt etc. With any remaining prize money handed to the winner as cash. The voting members will decide how the prize money should be applied and written clearly into the rules. Remember to consider non Gills fans that participate, although no such winner to this stage has ever happened. For those that prefer in a winning situation they could contribute their winnings to a charity of their choice.

Based on this and previous season starting entries, I would estimate the prize money to be in the region of £50, however, objections to the idea could reduce it to £40 or am I just being optimistic! All entry fees will be non-refundable with the exception of the league being cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances such as ill health to myself or loss of data. Prize would be dependent on fees received. League would be restricted to Gills fans only with the exception of current non gills members. I would probably start with a maximum allocation of 60 members, we currently have 58 from the course of the whole season.

Please feel free to post your thoughts, even if you are a Gills fan that does not currently participate.

The idea will only be applied if it gets the support of you the members via the poll and commented thoughts. If it is a no vote, then the brb prediction league will proceed in its normal manner as members have always accepted. If it is a split equal 50/50 vote, then I will also have to call in favour of the current format, although my initial vote will be for the new.

Once the members vote preference has been established I will then get my lawyer to look at the legal implications, before anything can be finalised.

Ah yes, forgot about that equation! Will have to remember to include an allowance for that scenario. Hope we have no Cypriots as members

 

so long as you don't put the money into a Cypriot bank account.

I think it is a good idea. I am for it as that will make it more competitive and that way I think it could draw more people in who will post predictions each game so I think this is a great idea.
