http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-Julio-Cesar-leave-QPR.html?ito=feeds-newsxml "QPR face being stuck with Julio Cesar after Luiz Felipe Scolari revealed he had spoken to Harry Redknapp and been told the Brazil keeper seems certain to remain at Loftus Road After being relegated from the Barclays Premier League last season, QPR were expected to offload high earners like Cesar to try and reduce their wage bill. But, speaking at a press conference to announce his squad to face Australia and Portugal, Brazil coach Scolari said: 'Julio has resolved his matters with the club. 'Hypothetically, we know where he will play this season. We've talked to him, reaffirmed our trust in him during this week after we talked to his club. 'We have called him up again because by the end of the transfer window, his situation will be resolved, with him staying on with QPR. After that it will be up to his manager to play him or not.' "
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ari-reveals-keeper-Julio-Cesar-leave-QPR.html It says Cesar, has sorted his problems with the club, and will be staying and Scolari says that Brazil accept where Cesar will be PLAYING this season. Now I do not know what to make or feel about this..... a 100% committed Cesar is obviously better than a 100% committed Green imho....but I do not like the guy anymore....He is really messing us (and Brazil) about And the wage structure that Harry put in place and is now desperately trying to disassemble will be shot to ribbons again...We will then have 2 superstars in the high price range playing then (Barton and Cesar)....assuming the remaining big earners are going like MBia and Diakite. The wording sort of implies we are not going to keep Cesar just as reserve keeper....and he will pushing out Green...and again imho that will not go down well with the "new team spirit". Just when that side was looking up.....Damn!
There still remains 12 days before the window closes, and the last couple of days before the deadline sees the most frenetic activity. I don't like the content of Scolari's remarks but I still believe that Arsenal will do a late deal to take him. Another few goals conceded in the next couple of games at Fulham and home to Spurs will help to focus Wenger's attention wonderfully.
It's not that I'm crazy about green either but keeping and playing Cesar when he obviously wants away would be disruptive and totally unfair to Green.
Agreed ...................... We can keep him, we just won't play him ........................ If I was Tonz, I would take this opportunity to make an example of Cesar and let players in general know that no one will hold this club like trash.
Beth, We can keep him, we just won't play him ........................ If I was Tonz, I would take this opportunity to make an example of Cesar and let players in general know that no one will hold this club like trash. I'm not normally a hard person but I won't tolerate someone treating our club with complete disrespect as Cesar has done. It is all about him ................. well, if I had my way, not any more. Cheers, Aussie
I see another story Cesar came to us and we convinced him to come as a club He is one if the best goalkeepers in the world and no different than any other man on here if asked to halve their wages ... Why should he? Harold on record as saying Cesar is a top professional and has trained hard every day with QPR Cesar has a contract clause if we got relegated so he has been looking and Harold has used Green Cesar had issues after putting on a Chelsea shirt It's World Cup year FFS and brazil are hosting it If he stays and its confirmed then he works for his place and gets on the bench .. If Green slips up then we have Cesar to come in How can that be bad What this is on here Posters are still looking to blame still as in turn each player has become subject to abuse ... Currently people are turning on BZ I couldn't of been more correct when I talked about infection and fickle and my worries for our fan base Footballers get paid loads of money Live with that they are all tossers We have a brilliant keeper in Cesar at the club and done wonderful players on loan .... Our club has made massive mistakes but the ambition is still there ... Having Cesar cannot be bad in any world and no one on here asking about how much green is on ... It will be a lot I guarantee Green is a funny ****er on and off the pitch but I hope he plays well and they both battle for the shirt Let all our keepers battle it out it healthy Start feeling good about this lads as things twist every day Rangers fans step off the knife edge and grow a pair ... It's game on and 3 points next game is the only focus
I still don't quite get this - he's like Barton without the history or ever saying anything against the club. He has more loyalty to the country of his birth than his club of the last year (moreso the fact that they're the host nation - a once in a lifetime chance). He likes money a lot obviously but, barring the Dalai Lama, most people do. We agreed to pay him his wage for the duration of his contract. Scolari has just confirmed that he's not in discussion with anyone (my interpretation) at the moment but that can change at any time in the next 10 days. Why do people assume he'll give less than Green does?
That just continues the "paid lots for doing f-all" mentality. Ceasar, Mbia and Bartron need to go. The whole object of the wholesale clearout is to ditch those who won't give 100% AND remove the large disparity between some of the pay packets. Those are the two things that have caused more trouble than anything else. Cesar, Mbia and Barton fit into the second category ... before anyone has a go at me for saying Barton isn't giving 100%!
Interesting comment DT. I've seen a couple of "tunnel cams" put out by the club and it stood out that Green was not involved in any "high fives" with the team or others in the tunnel. Made me think the same...
Yes I noticed that. When faurlin was in the tunnel with his son he didn't even look at him. Somewhat odd.
I think Green may of been a boy who did too many jigsaws as a boy and when he progressed to playing Operation or Ker Plunk things really down hill after all ... Cesar could possibly play both of these games simultaneously while smoking a massive cuban cigar. Both have their merits and both play for QPR
Reading betwene the lines here it seems that Scolari has told Cesar that he has no issues with him if he is playing in the second tier of English football. This may be the reassurance that Cesar needed and he may go to Harry and say that he is now in the right frame of mind to give 100%. Having the World Cup favourite's goalkeeper is interesting.
Nuts, did you get my PM about the Birmingham game? I only got back from Dublin on Tuesday night so did not see your note until yesterday. Let me know about your situation as it stands. Cheers
I agree but weve already shown to be very weak by giving in to Remy, Granero and Taarabt. Its not a good situation to be in, Im no Green fan but theres going to be some friction if he stays.
