We do seem to excell at sitting down sports dont we. Cycling, Rowing, Sailing...

Congrats though, brilliant achievement and should top that off with gold at the Olmypics.

Well done, Wiggo! Historic victory. Knighthood is now inevitable.

Well done also the other sky riders (Froome, Cavandish, etc): they were the epitome of professionalism.

congratulations to bradley wiggins. nearly 90 hours riding to win it. outstanding. and to the rest of team sky for their brilliant support to him.

and to mark cavendish, his sprint finish today (helped by wiggins) was just superb, he totally battered the other sprinters.

a great all round team....now for the olympics!

really well done especially when you can be fairly confident his progression has been clean unlike the sport he's had to contend with.

Yeah, you could bet your ****ing house on Wiggins being clean, top man!
It's refreshing to see a change in the established order in road racing after
the Armstrong years and that cheating **** Contador!

A Brit winning it just before the Olympics is great news and should give our team a real boost.

    Great bit of work!

Advertisers are gonna be desperate to get his face onto products now. My guess is some sort of shaving company to get the perfect sideburn. <ok>

Yeah b-but... he doesnt play football. John Terry's a shoe in for being found inoccent of racism, biggest achievement of any British footballer in recent years.

Load of Rubbish, Chris Froome would have won the thing by a country mile, if he wasn't under orders to help Wiggins half the time. Froome would have won several more stages, if he wasn't baby sitting Wiggins and his freakish facial hair.

I like this line best....He said: “The wife was getting ecstatic The Queen had sent us a letter and I kept saying: ‘Forget the Queen’, Johnny Marr (The Smiths) has sent me a message on Twitter. And Robbie Fowler. I had a message from God as well – Robbie Fowler.”
