No, he's not defo not, wasn't too impressed in League 1 let alone this level, however seeing him used as a scapegoat every week annoys me more than anything, just because 1 player isn't up to standards doesn't mean the other 10 should fail.
No...he isnt....and thats the way I voted. However, that doesnt mean to say there are not occasions where his industry, harry the opposition and willingness to chase down lost causes would not be useful and I find his scapegoat tag a little unfair. I would much rather someone like Pritchard (bundles of enthusiasm and effort) around than someone like Sordell (obvious ability, no desire to even pretend to put it to good use)
He's not good enough in the Championship, no. I have never been a big fan of him - though you appreciate the effort he puts in. He contributed last season with several assists, but he was on borrowed time then - the stats made him look better than he was.
Can't vote as I'm on the iPhone but no he's is not good enough even if he is being played relentlessly out of position and is exposed in wide midfield. Lovely fellah and effort to be commended and all that but he is a very poor footballer. I have always thought so. Same goes for a number of others in our squad.
I may be wrong here, but I believe our points return with him playing in central midfield is better than our points return without. He is rubbish played wide, but the only reason CP did that is because there was no-one better. And remember when Pritchard was played wide it was usually with Wilson behind him, who is not as good a full-back as Solly, so that didn't help. Pritchard is just a squad utility player, best in central midfield. His natural level is Div Two. If we had the money to get in someone better, I would be happy to see the back of him. But I would expect to see the back of Green, Gower, Cook and (sadly) Evina first because they are even less use to us, especially in a relegation dogfight. Clearly CP does not want to play Hughes (I can only assume for fitness reasons), or Poyet (yet), and seems to have written off Holland. When Stephens departs during this window, and with the FA expected to turn down Jackson's request to use a Zimmer frame during games, we may have to resort to playing Pritchard again. Of course we could borrow someone, but after our experience with Frimpong, Razak and Jonsson would that inspire any confidence? So BP does not merit being in a Championship squad, let alone First XI, but that point is moot until we get someone better. And if my opening sentence is correct it is clear that he is far from being our main problem. Let's get striker and LM sorted first, then we can crucify Pritchard at leisure.
I did'nt vote as the thread seems to be lashing out a bit at a player who always gives 100% for us, after a night when a lot of other players (including the new Pearl in the Crown Cousins) had awfull games. On skill factors, I don't think he's a championship player, but the state of the squad means we're reduced to having players who can simply run through brick walls. If we start to show signs of bringing in new faces, Pritch could well find himself out of the squad, let alone the starting XI, but he'll get a warm farewell from me, as he plays to te best of his limited ability. If only some of our dafter and more expensive signings had done the same.
I didn't vote either, and there's not much to add to the last 3 posts, just to point out again that Pritchard is no longer in the first team, he has been dropped from Championship action by the manager who gave him his big chance. I would guess that CP has decided that his industry doesn't compensate for his technical limitations. Playing him wide, or up front, his last 2 appearances, looks as though CP has played him where h is technical limitations won't make him a liability. Pritchard must see the writing on the wall, which won't have helped his confidence. Maybe he can do a decent job for another team at a lower level in central midfield. Good luck to him.
Pritchard is best coming on for the final 20 minutes of a game to chase lost causes, harry, tackle and generally make a pest of himself in games where we need energy in midfield. The question was is Bradley a Championship quality player and sadly the answer to that is resoundingly no. Is Bradley one of the most committed players in the first team squad?..... Yes
It's not just what you're born with, It's how much you can bear. It's not how large your share is, It's how much you can share. It's not the fights you dream of, But the ones you've really fought. It's not just what you're given; It's what you do with what you've got.
