Gillingham and Charlton both have their eye on Woking loanee Bradley Bubb, he is on loan from Aldershot. Thoughts? http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11737/8631539/
I actually like the look of him as I always look down in Non league and looked at him a few weeks ago and was surprised by what he has done for many non league clubs and how Aldershot have not recalled him or played him as it looks like he is a natural goalscorer. Also the fact that he is a free agent in the summer makes him a good signing, I personally would sign him now before anyone else snaps him up because I remember us and Charlton wanted Bradley Pritchard who was at Hayes and Yeading, they signed him and he turned out to be a very good player so I don't want us to miss out on this one as I feel that he is the sort of player that you could put next to a good target man like Kedwell or Burton and he would do very well so he is worth the risk as I feel he would not be on a high wage so he could even come in as a back up to someone else who is more established like McDonald.
Interesting article and there is one glaring Positive and one Negative that need to be addressed before its full steam ahead on this potential transfer Positive - he has scored 20 goals so far and will likely score one or two more before the end of the season and we really really could do with a goalscorer. Considering this guy will be a free agent if I'm not mistaken and will surely not command a huge wage it makes financial sense to 'take a punt' on this lad. Negative - I don't think we can ignore the fact that Aldershot, the team currently at the very bottom of the football League pyramid deemed this guy as surplus and sent him away to non-league for the year! Every striker has a year where everything just goes for them and they score more than they ever had before (look at Pope this year for vale) however does that make them a good long term option? I'm not so sure In my opinion I would give the lad a trial to see how good he is in a League 1 setting but if Martin deems him good enough who am I to question the Mighty Mad Dog?!
the reason bubb didn't really play for the shots had nothing to do with his skills. he was never giving a shot because his agent and the old shots manager who got sacked recently had a falling out, so he was sent out on a season long loan and could not be recalled. even the shots fans will tell you he was never given a chance to prove himself. the loan deal with woking was a season long deal so even if the new manager at aldershot wanted to recall him it wasn't possible because the old shots manager made it a 1 way deal. yet he was still able to train with the shots and woking. oh and by the way bubb pulled his hammy and will likely miss the rest of the season for woking.
