Just read a book called Getting A Nasty Shock and it really is shocking some of the incidents involving fans from both clubs from the 70's onwards. Thank goodness we have all moved on.

I remember them coming to BP about 84/85 and there was about 7,000 of them
There was a bit of bother going on that day

Came home to Hull for my mum's 80th birthday on Valentines Day 1985. Went to the match 2 days later with my brother - in -law and was truly shocked by the fan animosity to each other. I was in the North stand near to the Bradford contingent who were in the North Eastern area having entered from trains at the Halt. It was bedlam between them and the closest City fans and many were not interested in the match only hurling abuse across the wire boundary. Bradford won 2-0.

Martin Fish the then chairman caused that, before then our paths never crossed that much, but because Fish turned over Sledmere to Bradford dumping City fans out of their own kop to chase the money that it brought, the fury among City fans that day was quite the worst I've ever seen.

The game meant nothing to us, but the anger we felt towards Fish turned to the Bradford fans who were taking the piss, the aim was to get the game abandoned but the Police held firm and kept a sort of order.

I've never before or since been in such a massive mob City fans determined to cause disorder, and in my view well deserved.
