We had the chance to sign him, but turned it down in late 2010.

I mentioned going in for him in another thread, amongst the point of trying to sign a cheap striker who scores regularly for Lower League sides such as Reading, Southampton and Norwich did with Le Fondre, Lambert and Holt respectively. Sometimes you need to take that chance on Lower League players, because if they're signed cheap and don't work out, it's not that much a waste of money.

More recently, Charlie Austin for Burnley...

Good game - Bradford playing some nice football and Duke making one or two excellent stops.

They played brilliantly and Duke, Atkinson and Doyle all looked great.

One off game, but it was great to watch.

Will Atkinson seems to have perfected the step over and actually manages to get crosses in - hope Cameron Stewart was watching.
Bradford really did play some good football - fully deserved the win.

I don't see why he left Norwich for Villa anyway. Villa were clearly a sinking ship.

He'd have been a lot more secure at the Canaries.

Think you've hit the nail on the head. They're playing a blinder in a cup competition, but they've not done it frequently enough and probably won't win the second leg or get promoted.

Can't see them winning the second leg at Villa Park.

They don't need to - just a 1-0 or 2-1 loss and they're through. That's certainly possible, especially with Bent going off injured..

Any club looking to sign Wells will now be delayed due to the replay. He won't want to leave Bradford just now.

Ive always hated Bradford, they're probably the 'rival' we have faced more in my lifetime than any other and I really don't understand why some people are pleased to see them win. I dont remember many cheering TWS when they got relegated and won in the cup at Old Trafford.

Because they've fallen so far we're now sympathetic and half their team used to play for us. Possibly.

Prior to tonight they'd sold half their allocation for a cup semi final not far away. That's really ****e. I remember us taking 5000 to Anfield for an early round league cup 2nd leg when we lost the first match 1-5 (I think).
