Another club changes hands... BRADFORD CITY are set to announce the completion of a takeover early this week. The Bantams, beaten in the League One play-offs last Friday, have been in talks with German-based investors Edin Rahic and Stefan Rupp for more than a year. Those talks have now reached a successful conclusion and the 100 per cent buyout of the Yorkshire club will be completed on Tuesday. Joint chairmen Mark Lawn and Julian Rhodes will both step aside as part of the deal. http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spor...r-by-german-investors-1-7925021#ixzz49Om2YAdy
Big German/Jewish immigrant population in Bradford stretching back to the 19th century. In fact there is an area in the city called Little Germany. In case anyone is interested.
Wonder where little Switzerland got its name from in Hessle, can't have been many Swiss immigrants to Hull surely
After the war the people of Hull may not have been rich or adventurous but by eck they were imaginative. A short ferry across the Humber got you to New Holland, a stroll west along its banks and there is Switzerland. For the richer ones the Himalayas were only a two hour charabanc ride away to the West.
They could sponsor us, but they're worried about being associated with the Allams and all the bad feeling around the Hull area that would entail.
Thought buyers would have been flocking to buy Burnley or Boro rather than lower league clubs like Villa and Bradford
That's not gone down very well has it? Though I'm not sure it was even down to them, I think it was a planning requirement due to noise.
