Sad news emerging from Hull FC this evening that talented U19 player Brad Parker has lost his life in a car accident. Another young lad has reportedly lost his life too. Thoughts go out to their family and friends. Another two taken far too young.
I knew them both, the other lad was Daniel Maston, knew them both through my brother in law and they were cracking lads. Such a shame, both were way too young. RIP.
CLUB STATEMENT: BRADLEY PARKER please log in to view this image Hull FC have been deeply saddened by the news that former Under 16s captain Bradley Parker has died following a road traffic collision on Sunday. The club were informed yesterday afternoon that Brad had passed away and our immediate thoughts and sincere condolences have gone out to his family, friends and former teammates. Tragically, Brad, aged just 19, was one of two young men who lost their lives in the collision. The club have offered their full support to the family and the club's Player Welfare Officer, Rev. Tony Cotson, has been made available to council former players and teammates. Brad left Hull FC recently to pursue a bright career path on a new apprenticeship course, after starring for club and country at youth level. He was a popular member of a young squad that went on to produce current first-team players like Jack Logan and Reece Dean, who were his close friends. A talented hooker, he excelled from a young age captaining his school rugby team, helping South Holderness to the Year 11 National Cup Final. He also went on to captain East Hull and Hull FC's scholarship side, before his performances earned him international recognition with the England Youth squad. In a mark of respect for Brad and his family, the club will carry his name on the players' match day shirts in Super League next season. On behalf of everyone involved at Hull FC, we would like to pass on our deepest sympathy and condolences to the families involved in this tragic incident and Brad's contribution to the club from a young age will never be forgotten. http://hullfc.com/article/42731/club-statement-bradley-parker
Really nice gesture by the club to have his name on their shirts next season. A terrible loss though at such a young age, as a parent, this must be your worst nightmare.
The funeral of Brad Parker is to be held at St Peter & St Paul's, Burton Pidsea, 12.30pm, Friday November 27th 2015.
