Was just listening to talksport and thought I heard brad guzan has been released by villa, apologies if Im wrong as my wife typically started talking at the crucial moment, if true I think he d be worth grabbing hold off especially as he is free. Also confirmed Trevor Carson released by Sunderland .
Although I know what you are saying here ...... will their wages be something City ........ or more to the point the Allams could contemplate?
Not sure what he is on at villa, but for some reason I understood he wanted to make the deal permanent when he was here, under that assumption I think he would have been prepared for a drop in his wages.
Why would a footballer have problems getting a work permit when they earn £1000's and therefore pay a lot of money into the system. Sorry if I'm being naive
It's not really about paying money into the system, it's to do with how much they've worked from what I can gather. For example, no matter how much money Man City offer to pay someone from say Brazil, if they haven't played a certain number of games at International level then the government department, I think it's the Home Office, wouldn't give a work permit. Occasionally there is certain circumstances that allow them to bypass this, but it's all very technical. Although with Guzan I think he might be ok to get a new permit as he's played enough games at club level. Ok I think i've confused myself now & can't get back onto my original thought but i'm sure that there's someone on here who can put it in simple terms.
Er, I disagree...thought he was good for us. Not quite up there with Vito but improved with games under his belt.
I thought Guzan was ok, at present any keeper would be a 100% improvement on our current goalkeeping options!
