International break has been good - Cotterill

Manager says squad has made full use of two-week break.

Steve Cotterill says City have made full use of the international break as they prepare for back to back away games at Birmingham City and Preston North End.

The City boss rightly states that his team’s performances have deserved more than the four points they currently have on the board following victory at Middlesbrough and a late draw with Leeds United.

Cotterill is now looking to turn those good performances into more points, beginning with tomorrow’s trip to Birmingham.

“The lads have worked hard over the international break,” he told
Bristol City Player HD. “There were things we wanted to work on and improve on. They’ve done well and I’m pleased with them – now we have to put it into practice.

“If you look at our performances – and we’ve had time to do that over the break – there isn’t a lot wrong. We’ve been very good.

“I don’t think the points tally we have is what our performances deserve. If we can carry on those performances and get some wins on the board then we’ll be in a very healthy state.”

Of this weekend’s opponents, Cotterill said: “They’ve very good on the counter attack. They’ve got dangerous players and we have to be wary of those threats.
“All in all they’re a good, organised team and I’m sure it will be a tough game. We have to go there and force our own personality on the game.”

City will be backed by 2,600 fans in the sold-out away end at St Andrew’s tomorrow (3pm).

“It’s great that we’ll have a sell-out away crowd behind us. I remember the followings of 4,000 and 5,000 we had last season and it’s a big help.

“They’re all very noisy when they get together and hopefully we can give them a positive result to make the journey a good one.”

Luke Freeman is back in the first team fold after completing his three-match ban, while Frank Fielding is edging towards a return to the squad after a shoulder injury.

It was particularly disappointing we didn't make any permanent signings before the window closed.
Loans are what they say on the tin.....we could have done with some stability, but SC has to work with what he's got.

As I said on another post; we overturned Boro at their place so there is no reason why we can't do the same to Brum

    Just seen highlights on Sky.

Our defence was shocking - I thought the new loanees had sorted it. I was wrong.

Kodjida's second was quality but it is still not good enough.

We cannot blame the ref for all these headed goals from corners. That is basic defending.

Sounds like my Sunday league team, 3 from corners last week including one that went past 3men at front post and into the net

I'm not using this as an excuse, but the new boys have been here a week and its their first game for us, so even though we all agree we need points asap, we do need to wait and hope they settle in soon, but that's not easy is it?

Excuses are just excuses and ne'er the twain shall meet. Apart from that Mrs Lincoln how was the show?
