Now 2 Not606 regulars who are very long-standing Charlton fans don't feel able to go to home matches any more (AHLL and Dickp). I won't be joining them, although I respect their decision and wouldn't dream of telling anyone how to spend their time or money. I don't know what else I'd do on a Saturday, my only other team is Kilmarnock who are too far away, and paying good money to watch league football as a neutral is boring, although I'd happily stop and watch a pub match for 15/20 minutes. The other reason is that I don't regard being lied to as the end of the world. To me that's not as bad as moving Charlton away from the Valley, which happened once, and would have happened again if Slater & Jiminez had not come in to buy the club, and several years before this Reg was actively exploring other venues in Kent with a view to a move. You can read Keith Peacock's book if you want to find out about Gliksten's double-dealing. Then there was the reckless gambler Mark Hulyer. Jack Walker might seem like the ideal owner, local lad made good, pumped squillions into Blackburn. Then left them with such a huge debt that his family would not take it on, and Blackburn ended up with the chicken farmer.
So although Roland's way of running Charlton is a dampener, I haven't reached tipping point........yet.

Fair play to you Forest, but I felt it is the only way the owner will listen if people withdraw their attendance and money. It is a pity that I have paid out for my Season ticket but I will not be spending anymore until they go.

I'll still be going, but will be a long time before I get behind Mr Luzon, and I'd even take us going on a 10 game losing streak if it made Roland realise that we are not a play thing, but alas, can't see it happening, I won't boo the team, I will support them, but not the owner and the manager... not for a long time

That's a great post FHB, and completely sums up my view on things. I lived through the Glikstens, and can still remember the disastrous reign of Mark Hulyer (and until the numbers came to light, signing Simonsen seemed like we'd turned a corner never to return, which it nearly turned out to be, but not the way we wanted!) So now we've got RD, and what a suprise, he does'nt listen to us fans. It's not exactly a footballing revolution is it. Guy Luzón I did'nt want at all, but I did'nt want Riga, Peeters or Dowie, but was very happy when I Heard we'd signed Pardew, so there should be some happiness on here that I'm not the owner. I don't expect to be consulted about this stuff, it's all part of the football package. My honest view is that we have been lied to by RD and KM, but they're not the reason I support Charlton, and one day they'll be gone, but hopefully I'll still be following my beloved addicks. If I get the chance to get back to England, I'll certainly go along to the Valley (you people don't realice how good you've got it going every two weeks, although maybe given the last months of Peeters, it's me that is out of touch). If it all goes pear shaped with Luzón, I'll be complaining with the best of them, and in the happy state that I never wanted him to begin with, and was horribly alienated by the lies arround his selection. But for the momento, I live in hope that he'll put Cousins and Solly in their correct positions, wring some money out of RD for the signings we need to balance the team, and put a bit of heart into the players.

Not going to the Valley is purely a matter of principle on my behalf. I will miss it a lot and it is the first time ever that I have stopped going to the Valley in over fifty years.I even used to travel down to the ground regularly to look at it when we left for Selhurst Park. I have not been enjoying the experience for a while and I was going as a matter of duty, not because I was enjoying it. The final straw was the bare faced lies that were told by Meira. This has alienated a lot of Charlton supporters old and new. The influx of players from Roland's network is holding us back as a Club. Most of these players are not good enough to wear the Charlton shirt. Nego, Koc, Reza, Bulot, AA, Thuram, Tucudean. We have also wasted money on Polish Pete. I feel that there needs to be an overhaul of the Scouting network as it is not good enough. Whoever is picking these players needs to find another job.

All true Dick. But it's our club. Better to go down rioting like the Standard fans.

    Good posts ken.

I will enjoy going to the away games more than the home ones until the Belgium Bums have departed. No more STs or £7 pies & pints at the Valley for me. I will carry on going because this is our Club, not theirs, although I respect the view of DP and AHLL.

Rioting is not the Charlton way but the wicked witch would take notice if, at the next home game, there were more away fans in the Valley than home fans! This will never happen because CL will rally the troops and tell everybody they MUST give the Belgian runt their £24 because it is their duty as Charlton fans.

Problem is that the Douche (through his voice box KM) sees Charlton fans only as a source of money and NOT as customers to be pleased.

The anoraks & numpties on CL are thankfully not representative of all Charlton fans. Noticeable that the younger generation on Twitter has been a LOT more hostile towards the Belgium Bums.

Could we not write to the Government and refuse him a visa to work in the UK? Or do something to get his work visa terminated?

It'd be interesting to know how the fit and proper person thing ties into this although technically he's done nothing wrong whatsoever.

I love the badge, I love The Valley, I love our colours, I love my fellow fans. Couldn't give a fxxx about the Belgians, as long as they keep the club going. Charlton til I die.I Won't be missing any home games.
