Excuse me for talking off the top of my head but I think it might be an idea to organise a boycott of one of the home matches in the New Year. Obviously, this would be in support of Malky Makay. It might seem strange and I can understand that it might even be counterproductive but, hell, I'm beginning to think along the same lines as some of the old timers who'd rather be playing in league two than be putting up with any of this nonsense. We have a top manager and there's clearly been some misunderstanding regards the money, but this ****ing lunatic who owns our club needs a message sent to him. If he doesn't like it, then frankly, he'd better find a buyer and **** off. Sorry, I'm angry, I've had a glass and I don't give a flying ****. All this stuff about him being a canny business man is bollocks. He's an egomaniac, a despot and I can only thank the heavens that he's not in charge of a country. He's a dangerous lunatic who needs to be sat down and made to understand that this rubbish has to stop.
Sorry Glam, but I don't understand how you think that will help the situation. If Tan is a "****ing lunatic", he is hardly likely to respond with another statement through Lim changing his standpoint and support Mackay. The guy is going to have his own way - sit down and have another glass pal.
BU have been trying to get something going for an age now, and they are lucky to get more then a 100 turning up at a march. Unless you could put a few thousand outside the gate I can't imagine Tan would be bothered by a boycott . He is a bit of a lunatic, but as they say, he is our lunatic. We can only hope as time goes on he learns from his mistakes and take more notice of our culture , rather than reverting to his all the time. I have to be honest, I really don't want to be back in league 2, all that hard work to get up to where we are now, fans were moaning about being stuck in the championship for years. This time will pass and things will settle down, but we need to be in the PL and doing ok, anything else looks very dangerous now.
And all this because the media are talking through their orifices about Malky going for the West Brom job? The amount of nonsense they have manufactured out our current divide at the club takes up more inches than Errol Flynn's plonker. 'Woe is me' is not for me - I tend not to believe three thirds of the stuff that the papers and the other message boards (with links to the media) write up - according to them he's been sacked at least twice already but we weren't told, he was going to Everton, Norwich, Wigan, Velikonja was a Malaysian signing! blah blah blah ....... so much rubbish. There should be a law passed about only being allowed to print news in a newspaper not pass round gossip as fact. I don't like what might be going on but it's become a circus - partly due to us believing and recycling other people's drivel. I'm pretty fed up with some of our fans and the media, more so than VT and the club.
spot on iggy .....and the best way 2 deal with bad press is not read the ****e in the first place>>>>>>>this filth need papers sold and they don't give a fk how they pull in the Wonga.............talking about Wonga...........I cant even afford 2 go 2 games these days because of some plastic **** has money for a season ticket.
Stick your fingers in your ears and go 'la la la'. I rarely believe the press but when statements are released by a club quoting the Chairman's views you can take that as read. By blaming the media you're shooting the messenger in this instance. I've been asked on another thread about what I'd do if the Swans were Tanified. I honestly don't know. Petty was practically lynched here and went back to Australia with his tail between his legs. He was actually traumatised. I know this to be true because I knew his solicitor. But Tan is a different kettle of fish as is your situation. Even though I'm completely honest about my feelings for CCFC it makes my blood boil that a guy like this can treat teams as their own plaything without regard for a club's employees or its fans. Would any of you get rid of Malky if you could push a button? Maybe a few but not many. Whatever the rights and wrongs he's a decent bloke and a good Manager of your Club. Yet your owner, instead of having the good grace to boot him is testing his patience to the limit by constantly pulling the rug out publicly, thus hoping he'll walk. I don't know what kind of guy Tan is but 'honourable' doesn't spring to mind. 'Underhand' and 'manipulative' do. As someone else mentioned you need thousands to get involved for Tan to take notice and even then he probably won't. Judging by Tan's supporters here, coupled with those who take a pragmatic but ultimately sad view that nothing can be done I doubt you'll even get a hundred. By the way Glam if I'd posted this thread I'd get an instant ban so well done.
<Laugh>.......makes your blood boil>>>>im sure it does ...........so you don't pick out what suits you when the going`s good 2 firm.
Grow up aber ffs. We don't agree on much, but I know for a fact that we do when it comes to mega rich owners who know as much about football as Daiswan. Sparkley....keep putting the gloss on - don't you have a painter for that? I take it your glib remark means you actually agree with me but can't bring yourself to say so publicly. The consumate diplomat. I can see that way this is going - turn on everyone's favourite pantomime villain rather than debating your owner's antics. I'll take my leave.
I know what to do , lets get rid of Tan ...get rid of Malkie .......get crap crowds , go into Admin and start afresh ..................................seems to work for some cheating twats ...;O)
I was totally unaware of any reports linking Malky to WBA but, in the circs, would it really surprise you. Everybody's talking about WOL but this story is everywhere. Wake up FFS! The club are making actual statements. Declaring that the owner is disappointed in the manager... That's not spin, it's not made and it's not silly season either. It seems clear to me that tan wants Malky out. He may be rich, but he's ****ign with us. I'm quite prepared to listen to him if he steps back and starts beahaving properly, but as I say, this has to stop. You're right to say, of course, that a boycott would be tantamount to pissing in the wind, but we need to sing for Malky, and sing loudly, otherwise we'll end up in another mess. I'm sick of it.
didn't it just , can you not contribute to any thread without the normal vitriol about Swansea , I'd thought that students were schooled in the art of debate but it appears I was mistaken. It's hard to bring factions together who have different agendas, those who have fully embraced the Tan way and those who haven't are poles apart as I see it. Too many atm are acceptant of whats been going on and to be honest how many "fans" would walk away should you fail this season ,leaving again a mixture of pros v cons although the balance of power between the two factions may alter .
Whether we like it or not....this is the situation. Fans have some power but very little...and being honest those few that go will quickly be replaced especially if we stay in the premiership. Can't help thinking it's more than a misunderstanding when it gets to 15 million.....not sure how this plays out nor the 'resign or be sacked' latest news. Our friends down the road have plenty to say but all swallowed it when their owner put in six figures and took twice as much out. Our guy has put in eight figures when no-one else wanted to at all and pulled us well out of the ****. He isn't the most knowledgeable about British football but maybe it is British football that needs to change.....especially if someone can overspend by 15 million and it is thought acceptable. it is not our club....it is the club we choose to follow through hell and high water.
"Our friends down the road have plenty to say but all swallowed it when their owner put in six figures and took twice as much out" If you're referring to Jenkins - he is not our owner. If you did your homework you'd know he's only part of the picture and in fact most of the Club is owned by locals, with fans owning a large proportion through the Supporters Trust. But Jenkins was instrumental in guiding us from the brink of extinction to the Premier League by building steadily without debt. He has made astute managerial appointments which have been crucial in our success story. He deserves everything he gets from the Club which by Prem League standards is atually reasonable. End of. As for Hughs - the day you're articulate enough to not only absorb the arguments that people put forward but are also able to formulate your own views and provide a reasoned argument then I might - just might - sit up and listen. Until then I'll simply take it at face value that you're a moronic dullard.
So in effect what your saying is that the fans would only be replaced like for like leaving you in the same situation of having fans remaining who don't giving a flying fig in the 1st place.
The 'need' was brought about by an off-topic and unnecessary sidewipe at my club from a familiar source. Maybe you should address that? Typical Hughs. Cardiff in meltdown and he still wants to talk about the ****ing Jacks.
Why should I? I'm no different from any other supporter. I'll defend my club if it gets unfair treatment from opposing fans. So do you as I recall and I wouldn't argue with you doing so. Hughs's comment was off-topic, inflammatory and unnecessary. Agreed? I'm sure you do.
