....... we'll get rid of SOD ? I'm a season ticket holder and think we have to do something to HELP our club. Should season ticket holders boycott the Cup match this Saturday ? Ok, if not - WTF can we do do to make our Board see where we're heading.
I think that it might have been Wolves that did it, not sure, but there was a PANTS day at one ground, and everyone waved pants in the air during the match. Reckon that would be a good idea.
really sorry but i'm not spending £10 to watch daggers and us saturday, it'll be first game ive missed but i'm gutted with what i'm watching!!
Three trips from Cardiff to the gate in 7 days is just too much for me! especially if we have a repeat of Sat's performance. After a poor run of results think City should pay for supporters to watch the cup game. If not all especially those 300+ that went to Carlisle.
Fans do not own BCFC, the club does not now own what was its biggest asset i.e Ashton Gate. Ernie A [life long] apart the board are employees, non City fans and progeny. There is no supporter representative at board level. Our board! Our club! Where's the beef? Articulate your alternative. How would it be achieved? What model do you have in mind?
I agree RP, I shall boycott the game... More seriously though a show of fan power equals lost revenue and that, not poor results will always make a board think twice.
I would doubt that the Club have budgeted for more than the receipts from a gate of 5,000 in this round of the FA Cup anyway. So those who stay a way will not be highlighted as absentees anyway.
I don't want to seem ' lemming like ' but I could never publicly boycott or turn my back on the club, I may go shopping on a Saturday soon though..
I remember when Cardiff went to play in red shirts and the un ease that caused to start with. Season ticket holders were offered a full refund by the club if they wanted it- Do you know how many took up the offer? 70. Hardly going to prevent the change and I bet several of those 70 have since eaten humble pie and returned
Agree with Wiz - how does doing something that means the club have less money (to spend on players wages) help? As it happens I'm not going Saturday - not because of a boycott, but am going to a wedding (I wanted us to lose the toss with Rovers!)
I can see both sides. Basically people are getting more and more frustrated and are thinking of ways to voice their unhappiness. People are against the boycott, others dont like or agree with booing our team. So in short aside from anti board of directors or SOD banners at the gound which would probably be confiscated anyway, a demonstration outside of the main entrance which would likely be broken up, it's actually quite limited what you can do to get your opinions across, aside from forum's or writing to the Evil Post
There is lots of scope for protest. There have been banners/fanzines/flags/flyers/ petitions/protests/stickers/websites backing other issues e.g Eastend. The opening post sets out no alternative, no model, nothing.
