debut night ryan toms got knocked out by steve o'meara in round one. Lovely combination against the left hander. O'Meara had no idea where the power came from. First curse on the telly already. Great atmosphere at the York Hall. Fingers crossed for Paul Appleby.
great night to start. An absolute barnburner between liam walsh and paul appleby. walsh showed great guts to get off the floor to win. Toe to toe stuff stopped at the end of the 10th.
won a virtual shut out. He boxed as well as I have seen him but Vera was poor. Made to look poor in fairness. He had Vera on the floor in the 2nd with a super shot. I don't know how Vera beat him in 08, 2 totally different classes.
Thanks for that Rebel. Good news then. Think he was only 23 at the last fight, couple of years can make all the difference.
Seemed to make a big difference. Matt Macklin did commentary and reckoned he was a miles better boxer this time round. Cool, calm, composed.
I was surprised to hear Richie Woodhall commentating on the amateur boxing the other night. I know it was a military UK vs US event at the Albert Hall but the quality of boxing was never going to stand out. There were better bouts once they moved into the 3 min rounders but in the main it wasn't great quality boxing.
They need to sort their timing out. sky plus cut off in round 6 of the Donaire fight. I understand the same thing happened after round 1 of the BHop fight.
Yeah, like the old setanta show. A mate of mine doesn't even like boxing and he is hooked on Bunce's BBC London show, so this can only be a good thing. I prefer the style to Ringside but I'll watch both. There is plenty of room for this kind of output.
Show starts at 7. Katsidis v Burns will top the bill i'd say. Bunces show is on loads of times at fairly random slots. It hasn't settled down in a regular slot yet
