I don't think we can spend the whole season wishing defeats on these teams around us, half a season.....sure, but we might well need to start picking some points up soon.
Indeed. But once 31 Jan has passed, we can stop worrying about QPR's cash + Harry's whealing and dealing. If QPR haven't brought in some reinforcements by then, that should hopefully be that for them. And if they keep on losing during this period, then bringing those reinforcments in wont be easy.
I like the logic but History is right. At somepoint we need to pick up points of our own particuarly before we start playing the top 6 again.
Oh of course. QPR are just one team. Even if you throw in Reading too, who really do look doomed, then that is still only two teams. And three teams go down. If we don't pick up points ourselves, we were be that third team, without any doubt.
Reading don't look doomed, they look like they need more points than everyone but they know that they do. Thats not doomed.
Don't count your chickens just yet. Like Liverpool and Arsenal, I don't trust Spurs these days. Villa could yet be the big winners of the day, yet again.
What about Sunderland? They seem to have got it together at just the right time. We could have overtaken them had he beaten them and now they're 6 points above us! We could do with stringing a few wins together, hard to see where they're going to come from though...
Reading and qpr are down so that leaves one more place and it will be between wigan, saints or aston villa. these three teams have a 6 pointer when they next play each other...
Villa vs Wigan: Sat 29 December Villa vs Saints: Sat 12 January Wigan vs Saints: Sat 2 February And then, on the last day of the season, Wigan vs Villa: Sat 19 May
If you could be certain that we would win our two games, then I think you could make a case for a Villa win being the best result for us in that first one. But obviously you can't be certain...
