Our passing game is really starting to impress me now. Defensively, we still look a bit shakey, and I think we need to find some quality in the final third, but I think we're starting to try and play the right way now, which is great.

I'd like to see us press a bit more than we currently do when we're off the ball, especially with the size of some of our players. We're obviously no Bayern Munich, but they are incredible at shutting down teams the second the ball is lost. I'd quite like to see JET storming at their defenders the second possession is lost.

Well JET is never going to do that, because he is not that kind of player. If he was, he would probably be starring at The Emirates this season. I agree we are starting to play the ball around a bit in midfield, but what a shame we are missing our best player there. Kelly would have stomped all over the opposing midfields this season. Quite important that we sign Pack I would say.

We still look a little loose in central defence, fragile when teams run at us from midfield, and we look slightly toothless in attack. I am not impressed with Taylor, and Baldock needs to sharpen up some more. He would look more effective alongside a tall and physical forward, but I cant see him getting much this season up there on his own (apart from disillusioned and dispirited).
In spite of Kelly's absence, our midfield is still the strongest part of the team.
Fielding looks ok, but sadly another shorty. Still, Basso wasnt that tall either (nor Gordon Banks for that matter)

 

Our back 4 and keeper look very good for L1.

A new striker (even Taylor or Wes Burns)) to replace Davies and play with Baldock will be better than most in L1.

Without Marvin and Kelly we're left with Jet, Pack from L2,the moaning Aussie and kids.
So sorry, until I see Wynter and Wagstaff perform in L1 I worry that our midfield is not the strongest - it's the weakest !

 

RP you hadn't have to worry about Wynter. He will prove to be our best midfielder this season which worries me, He's only contracted for 2 years. A good season this year and we may have another bloody Adomah and Maynard situation. Wagstaff im not sure about. According to Charlton fans he was great in their league 1 promotion but couldn't make the step up to the championship. We may have a player who will help us in this league but not in the next. Still though, He's only 23 so young enough to improve. Our midfield is sound at the moment. Add Pack to it and we have a very possessive midfield who will keep the ball and be hard to break down.

 

I still have to be convinced about Fontaine his positional play is really awful when Flint goes forward to try and win the first header we need someone covering I have no idea where Fonts was in those clips but covering he wasn't
