You know what, watching Bournemouth last night made me sit up and whilst pleased for them, I just could not help feeling somewhat envious. They were just fantastic. To think when we went up it was relatively solid but drab and dour football; Bournemouth fans have ben royally treated to some sensational football, and best of luck to them; totally deserved. Quick passing, good control, great movement, never straying offside, solid tackling, quality finishing (bar a poor penalty) and total commitment to their manager's edict. A team made up of hard working and relatively ordinary footballers playing for each other and their manager. City have got a long, long way to go to get anywhere near that.
Couple of high quality lads in there to be fair. I'm a massive fan of Wilson and Ritchie. I agree completely about the style and team ethic aspect. It also shows how far from that type of unity we are. I've thought all season Watford, Bournmouth and Norwich are the 3 best football teams in the division so I'm glad 2 have taken the auto spots. What did you think of Alf? All looked very familiar to me, missed the best chance of the game at 0-0 then was basically anonymous until subbed. If we can get our money back or make a small profit we definitely should.

Going back to the op. It must also be noted that with the exception of on loan keeper Boruc (and Kenwynne the bench warmer) I don't think any of Bournemouth's team have experience higher than the Championship. I may be wrong with the odd one or 2 but if they have Prem experience it is minimal. It just shows what can be done with good, strong management, signing players who can add to, gel with and inspire the rest of the squad, team spirit and ethos and a little bit of skill along the way. Cherries, I salute you and wish you well next season. Don't make the same mistakes as us - if you can hang on to your manager, I'm sure you won't!!!
I was pleased for Bournemouth. Really good to see them achieve success with such style. Its hard to see either coming our way any time soon. I obviously enjoyed our success in winning the championship but I don't really remember enjoying my football since the days of Bothroyd and Chopra under DJ. Winning matches is great but the anticipation and excitement just hasn't been there.
So true Statto. Going to games in the last year has been a chore with little hope of excitement and/or entertainment. Even last Saturday, although we won, I went away feeling like we had lost - the abject defending for their second goal summed it up. Blackpool were absolute trash, but even with 57% possession we managed only 13 shots - the same as them, ffs!!!!! We dominated so much of the game but seemed unable to put in a reasonable final ball - Kennedy and Noone being the main culprits although, generally the passing was appalling - as it has been for much of the season. Perhaps the change of shirt colours has confused our players? Yours truly, Fed up from Bridgend!!!
Well done to Bournemouth on a great season also watford, ...Both clubs are odds on to come back down and that's about spot on but they will make a lot of money while with the elite that's for sure......
Nice friendly match arranged for 31st July away at Bournemouth. Knowing BfB is a closet Cherries fan think this is one we will be going to with the expectation of a cracking curry afterwards (not to mention his Stirling Moss driving! )
Morning Mart. See my text to you. Good news - will be on hols down there from 18th. Bad news - 31st is our wedding anniversary. Going to footie will not be high on better half's agenda for celebration.
I recall the days when we used to play teams like B'mouth from the lower divisions in pre season friendies.
I remember a 1-0 win there in a friendly back in the 70's. There was a fairground nearby - I don't think they appreciated City fans visiting it! I consumed a few bottles of Newcastle Brown that night and was sick on the coach going home - lucky my fellow Bluebirds didn't chuck me off!
