In 2008/09 they finished 21st in League 2. Just 6 seasons later, tonight, they are about to be promoted to the Prem. A win will secure automatic promotion. They lead 2-0 at half time against Bolton. That is just fantastic!
Great place to live and now with a Premiership team too. Should do wonders for the tourist trade down there. Interesting local derby with The Saints too.
This was just their 5th season in their entire history at this championship level. What a manager Eddie Howe is.
Nice to see some of the less fancied teams go up they have played attractive football not always sound at the back but have kept scoring goals well done to them and Watford
With Eddie Howe in charge they can achieve anything. Callum Wilson is also one of my favourite players.
They have had the help of a Russian Sugar Daddy so it is not a complete surprise that they are where they are but a stoic effort nonetheless.
I've always had a soft spot for Bournemouth and they have had some real ****ty goings on down the years so I say let them in enjoy this success even though they have been bank rolled to the Premiership.
Delsy as I understand from the press if it wasn't for the loyal supporters of Bournemouth standing around with collecting tins etc they wouldn't have had a club for the Russian to have purchased as well as the previous chairman writing a cheque for 750000.00 £ to stave off bankruptcy
Good for them, it is going to be very interesting to see how they fair next term, maybe they can entice Ted MacDougall back in to give them a bit of nous although I think their current manager is more than capable of adapting to the higher level.
Attendance Bournemouth v Bolton - 10,070 Attendance Bristol Rovers v Alfreton - 11,085 Not sure what to make of that stat!
we got potential. if uwe happens and we push up the leagues, we could easily fill uwe. but that is a long way away. but we got the fans, just shame a fair few only come along when its going well. uwe must happen if we want to push up the leagues as we have shown we can fill it.
