Bournemouth v Swansea City Competition - Sky Bet Championship Venue - Dean Court Date - 6 November 2021 Kick off - 3pm Following their impressive 2-1 away win at 4th placed Coventry, next up for Russell Martin’s Swansea squad is arguably their toughest match of the season so far - a visit to Championship leaders Bournemouth. On Tuesday evening, Jamie Paterson and Joel Piroe were both again on target the as Swans ended Coventry City's unbeaten home record in the Championship. Paterson swept Swansea into an early lead before Piroe's deflected shot made it 2-0 inside 12 minutes. Kyle McFadzean headed Coventry back into it, but the Swans held on for a fourth win in their last five games. Russell Martin's in-form Swansea side climb to 11th in the table, while Coventry stay fourth. The following evening, Preston inflicted a first league defeat of the season on Championship leaders Bournemouth thanks to goals from Ben Whiteman and Ali McCann. Whiteman swept Preston ahead early in the second half from just inside the penalty area before Philip Billing equalised on the hour. Despite Jamal Lowe and Chris Mepham going close to putting Bournemouth ahead, it was McCann who restored Preston's advantage with his first goal for the club after he put away a ball back across from Emil Riis. The loss brought Scott Parker's side's five-match winning run to an end and cut their lead at the top of the table to two points as his former club Fulham triumphed 7-0 at Ewood Park. The Swans have played the Cherries on 61 previous occasions, winning 23, losing 25 with 13 matches drawn. In the corresponding fixture last season, Bournemouth ran out comfortable 3-0 winners: Bournemouth have become something of a bogey-team for the Swans: indeed, it is 14 years since Roberto Martinez’s Swans won 4-1 at Dean Court, thanks to goals from Ferrie Bodde, Denis Lawrence and a brace from Warren Feeney. Since then, the Swans have been winless in each of the 9 matches played - 3 draws and 6 defeats. Turning to Saturday, Bournemouth will be desperate to put Wednesday’s shock defeat by Preston behind them, whilst the Swans will be buoyed by a record of 4 wins out of the last 5 matches. Whilst I’m hoping that the Swans will return home with at least a point, I have a feeling that the Cherries will bounce back from Wednesday’s reverse and run out 3-1 winners. I hope I’m wrong.
Thanks Taff. This will be out biggest test of the season so far. I would like to think we can keep it tight at the back and come away with a point but I think we will give some goals away but I fancy us to get one. I think it will be another good game to watch but I fear it will be a 2-1 defeat on the road.
Another superb write up Taff.Thanks. I always go for head over heart but,for this one I'm going for heart over head. And,why not.We are playing well.Yes they had a set back.Makes for hopefully an entertaining game. 2-1 Swans.
I never seen us win at their place , came close a couple of times but not quite. I'm not going so we will win 1-3
Thanks Taff....a great result on Tuesday and I see no reason why we cannot get another positive result on Saturday if we start off on the front foot.. 2~1 Swans
A few weeks ago it would have been a nailed-on Bournemouth win, but not any more. My brother-in-law is from Bournemouth and follows them closely. Says Jamal Lowe missed an open goal from 2 yards out last night. Good on him. In bouyant mood I predict a 1-1 draw.
Ate out of bin . Slapped your head cos you're a twat, Support Liverpool . Man Utd even Cardiff Met . Support a Club who play in red (whilst chasing the money) Take a course in brick laying Sign a player then deny all knowledge of his existence Have broad shoulders to support the rest of the league Buy a pair of binoculars then look skywards playing spot the ball Say hoof ball rather than football Speak in that grating unattractive cardiff English accent Sound like a twat when you do the above Convince your self you follow a massive Club Buy a season ticket then don't bother attending any games. Think the world revolves around you Believe after a draw game you're going to win the league. Tell the world and his dog you once won a cup final 100 years ago . Cheer when the local council dump radio active sand into the old docks area and call it a beach Think a day out down the "bay" is the equivalent of a week in St Tropez
Big one today. Come on you Swans Safe journey to all that travel Let's hope the boys repay you with a good performance. YJBs
Anyone got a working link? I've tried the usual but it's not working for me. I'll post it anyway in case it works for someone else... http://www.live7v.com/c/football/zzz-uncategorized/06-11-2021/afc-bournemouth-vs-swansea-city/2/
yeah - the uSA goals site used to be fairly good - but it seems that weekend games for the Swans rarely provide a working link anymore. EDIT : Saying that, the link has just sprung to life, but stutters every few seconds for me
