View attachment 11240 vs The Addicks kick off march with an away trip to dean court to take on afc Bournemouth. The addicks run riot last time out smashing 4-0 past a Chesterfield side that seem destined for the drop with Wright-Phillips following up saturdays goal with a hattrick. Bournemouth however lost at home to the MK Dons 1-0 with Doumbe getting the only goal f the game. The opening day of the season was the last time we met Bournemouth with most of us not knowing what to expect from our newly acquired Charlton side. Charlton eventually ran out 3-0 winners with Stephen's bagged his first goal for the club to set the ball rolling and then teed up Wagstaff to score a 20 yard volley. The games last goal was Johnnie Jackson's first as captain and like so many of his goals this season it came from a set piece as he fired home a penalty. Afc Bournemouth have so far failed to live up to the hype of last season. However saying that they still find themselves in 10th place with 44 points from 33 games. The fact they havent been able to mount another serious promotion push this season is down to the fact that like us this summer there was a revolving door down in Bournemouth and they lost a lot of key players, two of which now turn out for us in Hollands and Wiggins. Add to that list the loss of their captain Pierce to Portsmouth and you start to think again that they are punching above their weight in this division. Bournemouth have lost the most games at home out of the top 10 this season so I don't see why we can't come away with all 3 points, we also finally get to see what all the fuss about Matt Tubbs is and I believe he along with Pugh are the 2 danger men for the Cherries, we stop them playing we stop Bournemouth.
Nice job, Belvedere. I'm going with 2-0 as well, and a Bradders Brace again - the mojo is well in place and I don't expect it to go missing any time soon.
Got my ticket - can't wait. Bournemouth are no doubt a decent side in this league but, according to the table, so are Stevenage, and we tore them apart on Saturday. The confidence is back and I firmly believe we will win this, BWP scoring at least one. 2-0 to us.
Well done Belv. In nice and early this week. The games are really coming thick and fast! I'm with the 2-1 victory brigade.
Morning all. What a difference a week makes! This time last Saturday I was in a foul mood, about to go to the valley expecting to lose and be very unhappy. Seven days later, we have another 6 points, we have remembered how to play, BWP has a hatfull, I've bought a season ticket and all in the garden is rosy. Who needs Prozac!!!!! COYR
Now then, I think we are going to lose today so will not be having a bet but on that basis the best value I can see is @ Corals Charlton to win 1-0 (7/1) with Bradders first goal (5/1) - a ten spot returns £480 but Charlton to win 1-0 (7/1) with Morrow first goal (25/1) - a ten spot returns £2,080
A beautiful day (so far) for football. Looking forward to this very much, a sell out away crowd will help spur the boys on. I'm going for an away win, but think they will take the lead. A half time team talk from the owners 4 year old son later, and we'll go on to win.
I understand their pet dog will be doing the half time chat today The Tea Lady will be in charge of post match swearing
Cheers AHLL, think i'll have a 3 way with the above plus another 1-0 with Jacko. BTw, all those going down to B'mouth - wave at me when you go past on the M27 ! One word for all people travelling by car (shouldve told you before), is that there have been some Roadworks on the M3 the past couple of weekends, not sure if there is today - probably best to go down A3 - especially now that the Hindhead Tunnel is now open. If you do go down A3, then def wave at me as you go past Junction 11 on M27 - The Gosport Turnoff.!
Hi ho - another manager talking b*llocks to try and detract from our success - why do they bother? At least nobody can argue with the last sentence... What a donkey. Bournemouth manager Lee Bradbury told BBC Radio Solent: "Charlton have only lost twice this season. Chris Powell has done a really good job there. You look at the players he's brought in and he's pretty much cherry-picked the players from this league and some from above. He's got a really good squad, but you can't take anything away from him, he's done a really good job there. "They're a very solid side who don't concede too many goals and score quite a few."
Wow, there's some deep footballing insight there, good manager convinces good players to join his squad, asked them to play good football and are playing well, which involves good defending and scoring goals, now top of the league....... if only everyone could see that Or maybe he missed the huge reduction in the wage bill and rise in attendances etc
Quiet on ere today! I'm Norma Nomates! are we all engrossed by Liverpool Arsenal? Suarez is an odious cheating little c@@@. And I'm not always moved to such language!
