Only West Brom since the Premiership started in 1992 have stayed up after being bottom at Christmas. Season 04/05 and on 34 points. So there have been 22 seasons of the PL including the current season and only 1 team has survived after being bottom. **** me this doesn't look good. We have the good fixtures at home on paper, and the squad and manager to do it. But my mind changes like the weather, 1 day I think we are staying up, the next its we are going down, ha.
Absolutely. No-one in the history if the premier league has had as hard a first 8 home fixtures (according to previous season league positions) as we had this season. Which must mean we have relatively easier fixtures coming up
Has anyone done a comparison with the points we have now from the home games and the points we've had from corresponding games in other seasons. We always beat Man City but don't often get much from the other top teams and the mags. Also I think most of us expected to be around the relegation area by xmas due to the rotten home fixtures (although not quite as deep in it as we are) For my two pennyworth I reckon we'll stay up because we are playing better and our run of bad luck can't keep on for ever although since the beachball we've had a long run of poor decisions. Will we get Welbeck in January? It looks like he's going (bbc gossip yesterday)
I had not taken much notice of who you have played at home so far this season , until now - feck me you didn't half get the **** end of the stick when the fixtures were generated
Britain had never won a Tour de France for over 100 years until last year. I bet we win it again 2 or 3 times in the next 5 years though. Records are there to be broken and I really still think we can scrape out of this mess. We do need a new striker in a couple of weeks though.
13/14 season- 6 points 12/13 season- 5 points 11/12 season- 6 points 10/11 season- 3 points 09/10 season- 10 points 08/09 season- 5 points didn't do the fulham game, just the top teams and the derby
The beachball wasn't even luck, the right outcome prevailed. A goal bound shot from within the penalty area is likely to find the back of the net. If it had been ruled out, it would have been an injustice because it was a LFC beachball thrown by a LFC supporter.
You're welcome fellas. Nothing out of the ordinary is it, unlike our fixture list. But now is where we can turn it into a positive. Home form will help bring in points away I'm certain.
Only one team from Division 2 had ever won the FA Cup till 5th May 1973. We copied that and we can stay up this year.
We seem to be hitting a bit of form at the right time for me, nothing brilliant but the signs are good, what we have to avoid is bottling the home fixtures against the teams in the relegation scrap, as we have a history of doing, I think Saturday is a must win to give us a platform to finish this awful calender year on a high. I think we can get out of it given the rub of the green which we haven't had up to date. KTF
how can we not be bottom ,if we beat norwich we will still be a point behind those on thirteen or do you mean at the start of 2014
