They were never really serious contenders. The world knows they are punching way above their weight and it was always going to end in failure.

 

Just to put things in perspective after 29 games last year Spurs were on 50 points as opposed to 55 this season, and Arsenal were on 57 points as opposed to 52 this season.

When you look at Chelsea, City and United along with Arsenal doing worse off than last season, it puts in perspective how marginally better off Spurs actually are to their usual selves.

 

And they were playing at home I might add. Full weight of the crowd roaring them on.

 

To be fair this season has been poor for the big boys, so the smaller clubs have been given the chance to win the title (deservedly), but nobody wants to win it other than Leicester.

 

I'm sure the large number of mouth breathers about during a spud home game affects the precipitation levels - too much hot air!

 

Rare to see a game in which both teams bottled it.
