I think sometimes Jay looking at his boots and (seemingly) moping around was a technique he used to lose his marker. As DJ used to say - he's a player who drifts. Think this is what he means by this is a player who finds pockets of space.

I don't resent Jay for running down his contract. I'm not sure I'd be any different if I were in his boots. Risdale should've added another year or two after his first season at the club when that was an attractive thing for Jay/Sky Andrews.

I would take Jay back in an instant. But this is not going to happen given how antagonistic so many Bluebird voices have been in the blogasphere. He's going to give the PL one last shot. He's earnt that shot IMO.

well, to be honest, he needs to grow up a bit. dave jones turned his career around, when we signed him no one in their right mind could have seen him improving that much, yet he will probably get £30k + a week at a PL team, yet we get no fee for him. i do accept he was a quality striker at times, but also he got far to many yellow cards and was alot of the time a petulant tw*t.

we'll move on and he can sit in a PL teams reserves if thats what he wants <ok>

i agree, players say things on twitter possibly not knowing that what they say will be put out to the entire country - like carlton cole got charged for saying a funny joke about ghana fans when they played england.

i dont agree with the idiots who are giving jay stick, but still theres no need to kick up a fuss from his point of view, most cardiff fans would appreciate his 3 years of playing he gave us, my only criticism of him was for not signing a new contract, but who's fault that is i dont know - was he asking for silly money or did the board not give him a contract? tbh i would believe the former.
 
Fact is he can command more money being out of contact because money that would otherwise go towards a transfer fee, can then be put towards the individual player's signing on fee. That is, if there's competition from clubs to sign him and the agent can demand this.

Agree though that Jay should use Twitter less. Great as a tool for self promotion etc. But use it for all things positive, not to get dragged into crap slagging matches with antagonistic fans. Because those fans are everywhere, at all clubs.
 
Are we going to hate every player that goes through the door and why is the SPL referred to as the Mickey Mouse league when the likelihood is we will look to the SPL for players?

I have enough problems trying to get a team together for this new season without worrying about last seasons team.

Jay had skill and scored some great goals, how he decided to leave will be seen differently by the fans.

His comment that the team did not get promotion because "they were not good enough" suggests he was good enough but the others were not so its not just the fans he should worry about the other players will not be happy either.

Falling over, off side, never in the box fighting and often giving up the chase...are some of his faults but early season he was really making the difference.

It is also a pity that Jay should be concerned considering the great support he had from the fans here, arguing with a few on twitter says a lot.
 
If posters and Walesonline are going to post the negative stuff that came off Jay's Twitter, then it's only fair that the good stuff be seen too. Jay's last few Tweets...

"Thanks to the loyal Cardiff fans for supporting me ... You are great . I always did my best for the club and I honoured my contract ."

"Not many footballers do these days. So I can hold my head high"

"thanks for all the support from yourself and all the loyal fans , most of you were always great!!"

BBC's Friday Gossip Column said he was off to Everton - from footieonline so not entirely reliable. Good move if he can get it but would they want 2 lazy so and so's with him and Beckford up front.

I wonder what he thinks we should appreciate? Perhaps he honestly hasn't noticed that he walked away on a free from the club that revived his career and helped him win the only England cap he's going to get all because he was greedy?

So not because he's nearly 30, at the peak of his career and wants to be in the top-flight and trying to get in the England squad again?

(He shouldn't be. For an international striker, he's ****ing terrible)
 
No one will say he never played some great games for us and some of his goals were lovely to watch, we do appreciate the good games.

I`ve had my say on his faults but wish him all the best hes not a bad guy.
