I think he is a better shot stopper than Forster - mind you, Forster hasn`t been overworked this season

Forster has one of the best stops to shots ratio in the EPL (perhaps the best?), but doesn't get tested as much as Boruc was last season. And I don't want him tested...perfectly happy with our great overall defence, thank you very much. It was tough on Boruc that he was told he was second choice straight away, so pleased he is doing well at Bournemouth. I bet they are praying there that Forster doesn't get injured.

How in God's name did he keep that last one out?

Incidentally, anyone else miss the championship? A proper competitive league, no room for prima donnas, honest hard working professionals, clubs that exist to provide for real supporters, and Artur Boruc. What a great league, or at least it is when you're storming it. Losing at home to Watford after missing 2 penalties wasn't so great.

Nope. Can't really miss it while being 2nd in the Premier League.

    True.

Part of me still does, though. Part of me still misses my Mark IV Cortina, even though my current car is far more comfortable and reliable and I don't have to park it pointing downhill just to make sure it starts in the winter.

I've loved every season (since the Leihberr takeover) because it has been success after success. Prior to that we had odd moments or even single seasons of success, but never a period like the last five years.

I believe there is no recall clause if Forster gets injured. It's hanging onto him in January is cherries worry

they could send lee camp the other way.

struck me as a decent keeper over the years. sitting on our bench might be better for him than theirs.

I shall trust that you know more about this than most...others seem to feel he can be recalled.

Took a while for you to post...having a nice lie in :)

I loved having Boruc play for us. He made some great saves and was a exciting player to watch.

Who doesn't secretly love a crazy keeper? (Apart from the manager of course).

Embarrassment of riches having both Mad Arthur and Foster on the books, can't see Arthur returning, but certainly wouldn't say no.
Interesting that as good of a season that we have had and as superb as the defense has been, most posters on here are not entirely comfortable with Foster?
Decision making and handling slightly questionable?

Always has been a fantastic reactionary stopper. In that I think he is better than Forster. For example, I think he would have saved Noble's deflected goal and possibly Nzonzi's shot, simply because he is so mobile and quick, he can react to change faster. What Forster does well is he commands his goal area better, apart from one-on-ones, where Boruc is the master, as Wayne Rooney well knows.

In terms of goalkeeping, I'd have Artur back in a heart beat, and he'd vie with Forster as equal number one. I do question his work attitude and commitment though, and perhaps Koeman saw something there that he didn't like.

The player who dropped to a 15th placed championship team at the time because he wants to play and at the highest level? To me if he had a work attitude n commitment issue he would have been happy to be no more than a bench warmer at saints

Don't think Koeman saw enough to know anything. Saints had decided they wanted another keeper and, no doubt, promised Forster he would be number one. Tough on Boruc...let's face it, most of us wanted a decent second keeper, but who thought Boruc would lose his place? Not many I would guess.

There's an arrogance and don't care ambiance that's comes across from Artur in Saints interviews occasionally. Some of it is great, especially when being asked about great saves that he makes, and he says... that's my job. There are other things, such as when he returned from injury and when asked if he had to train hard to get his place back he just said no. That may be truthful, but coming from Artur it didn't sound good, and may be symptomatic of his general attitude in the dressing room. These traits are easily spotted if they are there.

And Laura. It's just my observation. There is no need to defend him like he's your brother. :)
