Been told at work today that Borini only touched the ball 5 times after he came on (69th minute), 2 of the touch's being the goal set-up and shot.

The others were close to our penalty box.

I've no idea if this is true or not but if it is what conclusions can you draw from his involvement in the match other than the goal?

Not trying to dis Borini at all - the impact he had when he came on, by scoring, should be enough in most peoples eyes, he did what he was sent on to do - change the game - but I guess I'm just surprised by the stat (if its true of course!)

If a forward has 3 touches and scores a hat-trick he (99% of the time) still gets MOTM simply for his goals. Borini is a striker who scored a goal - he'll do for me - It was true he only had a few touches but we were sitting back soaking up pressure at the time and he's an attack minded player... All good in my eyes

I really hope it is true it would make it even better. It would be fabulous if he only touched the ball 5 times for Liverpool as well. 10 touches 3 goals vs newcastle fcking awesome. If we can get the ball to him 20 times he will get 6 at that rate. PS I know it's daft but I can dream.

It's bollocks mate. A few seconds after he came on he had that shot which almost went through Krul's legs. Can't remember him seeing an awful lot of the ball other than that tbf but still blows the little "stat" out the water!

I just love his "shoot on sight" policy. He's got little or no backlift on either foot, will get goals. On the downside he is made of glass.

His movement off the last man was fantastic and must have made them drop their defensive line at least 15 yards deeper. They were looking for a winner and pushing up until borini came on. Small things can make the difference, especially with big Jozy coming short, they didn't know who to pick up and ended picking up neither for the goal.

Not a bad 25 minutes considering rarely touched the ball. It's a good job there's other aspects of play that helps make a good forward. He's definitely decent.

Fair enough. I wasnt sure about it.

I think he could be a far better impact substitution than the likes of Ji or Wicks (as proved on Sunday). His off the ball movement against tired legs from the small scrap I saw was good but thats all he should be - an impact player. I would still prefer Fletch and Jozy to start every game.

So he only scores against the mag ****s, well what can you say.....

The most costly player on earth on that basis then...

Can only play him twice a season, or if he's slightly colour blind, also against West Brom, score a goal, give Sess a kick, and a quick jib about driving home.
