http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...d-be-back-at-the-Stadium-of-Light-next-season The on-loan Italian is due to return to Liverpool next week after playing a key role in the Black Cats' astonishing escape from relegation. Manager Gus Poyet has already admitted he would love to sign the 23-year-old striker on a permanent basis. And while the chances of that happening looked remote with Sunderland apparently doomed to relegation, their remarkable revival has opened the door again. Much depends on Liverpool's stance and with a Champions League campaign ahead of them, Reds boss Brendan Rodgers knows he must bolster his squad in all departments. Borini himself refuses to give up on his Anfield career after an injury-ravaged first season there. But he knows he currently faces an impossible task to break up the Luis Suarez-Daniel Sturridge partnership. Now he admits a second year on loan at Sunderland could be on the cards. "Anything is possible," said Borini, whose stunning goal in Wednesday's 2-0 win over West Brom clinched the Black Cats' fourth successive win and guaranteed survival. "It depends on what Liverpool say. They will need a bigger squad because you can't play in four competitions with the same 11 players. "But I've enjoyed every second here. âAnything is possible, it depends on what Liverpool sayâ "It's been great from the fans, the city and everyone at Sunderland, the love and friendship that they have given me throughout the season has been incredible." Borin, along with Black Cats' team-mate Emanuele Giaccherini, still harbours hopes of earning a place in Italy's World Cup squad. But despite Sunderland spending most of the campaign fighting for their lives at the foot of the table, he insists the past nine months have improved him both as a footballer and as a person. "I have always thought I was a Premier League player and this season, I have been injury-free and proved I can play here," said Borini, whose nine goals include the opener in the Capital One Cup final defeat to Manchester City at Wembley. "After being injured last year, I've played around 40 games. "It's the hardest season I've ever had because we've been constantly fighting, but this builds your character and makes you stronger. "You learn how to suffer and how to get out of hard situations. Now I am ready for anything." Borini won his one and only Italian cap more than two years ago but hasn't given up on a recall. He added: "Italy are always monitoring their players and the national boss will know all my statistics. "I really hope I go to the World Cup because it would be a fantastic achievement after playing for Sunderland." Liverpool, can we please have him back? Please?
cannot see him coming back the liverpool objective was euro competition ,they have a ready made player with him to fill the ranks so they will have more players staying and coming in than leaving mores the pity.
I thought it was interesting that Jack Colback was the player put up for an interview on MOTD after West Brom.
Gotta think though, would Borini be happy sitting on the bench at 'Pool, and playing in their European games? And lets face it, Liverpool will want to do quite well in there, so can guarantee that Suarez and Sturridge will play in that aswell, while Borini will more than likely play in the League and FA cups. Where with us, he will more than likely be the first name on the sheet. And he looks like he loves to play.
For me jack is a player who i admire greatly because of his pro like attitude and honest approach to the game,i have said it before it will be a big loss if he moves on ,i think he is going from strength to strength and if resigned could be part of the backbone of the team ,i think its been a canny bit of management to allow him to move forward as well all to often i think his movement has been restricted by the teams style.
He has to ask himself where he could go to better himself. He's not a top 6 player and the rest of the clubs aren't much better than us. Would he really be happy at Swansea or West Ham who wouldn't want to get him a big wage increase anyway? And why would he go to a club in turmoil, like Newcastle, where he'd always be seen as an ex-Mackem?
I think Liverpool will want him to bolster their squad. The World Cup may have a bearing if he is selected.
I'd like this but the premier league are the ones who stop him playing against his parent club due to.a conflict of interest. It's not Liverpool who stop him
At the minute without any other transfers he's 99% likely to replace Aspas. You can have Aspas... he's very... Spanish?
very generous of you Yoda but I'll raise you a Graham and an Altidore - and you can keep Aspas, just let us keep our Fab Fab Fabio
Love to have him back, but LFC will want that extra cover. CL footy will be tempting for him, but how much of it will he actually see? However, from what he's said in the OP he clearly wants LFC to need/want him back, so we have to face the fact that we're a fall-back for him in the event that they don't. Can't argue with it as LFC are obviously a step up from us, unless Rodgers goes for another striker in the summer (Fernando Alonso anybody? ). Colback is different though. The only real move from us would be to a club that is in Europe next season, with the exception of Hull. If he can't get that he might as well stay. A move to the mags is likely to end in tears for obvious reasons, so who else will be bidding for him?
Fernando Alonso? Thought we were due Hamilton! hate to say it but he's long gone unfortunately. ATM safc are the purists of breed!
I think Liverpool will sign another striker in the summer anyway. But Borini is contracted to Liverpool until 2017 so they're in no hurry to sell. I think Liverpool will be happy to let develop him further here after we've handed him 40 games this year with another loan. Would be a good deal all round.
Please just take him :'( Think you'll be fending off interest for Connor Wickham from anyone? Everton maybe?
Well it depends on Liverpool's ambition. If they're not going to spend much and want to bulk out the squad then no, I don't see it happening. But I think they'll be out for another world class forward and they'll by in the Champions League and Premier League to win them. If so, I think a loan will be on the cards. Don't think there's a chance in hell of a permanent deal this summer, not with his long Liverpool contract. Unless they're breaking the bank to bring a player in, they may cash in.
