Sky is reporting (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_7140564,00.html) that Borini is on the verge of being loaned out to Roma by Parma. Wouldn't it be great to get him back in the fold for a few months.
Sure, a great addition........but possibly not exactly giving the vote of confidence to the 3 strikers we have signed in the last half a year. If Brendan made a move it would also be a show of weakness in the signings he made of Moore, Graham and Lita. Not gonna happen.
Read an article saying that Roma are heavily investing in youth and trying to be world beaters in 5 yes. Would be a good move for him - BarcaRoma. Be great to get him back here though
Roma have signed him for a season long loan for €1.7m with an option to buy for €7m apparently , so can't see him coming to us at all now, which is a shame, think we should have gone for him myself, I wish the lad success though.
Did anyone ever get to see the letter that Fabio was apparently going to send to fans (via a match programme) about his feelings for the club and his emotions about his agreement with Parma?
loved to see fabio back one day but even though imo he is better than danny, lita and the rest we have to give these guys a chance. apart from scoring they are doing ok....
We did try...Boroni agent stated brendan called but by the time the call came through he was at Roma!!!!! AHHHH !!!! Borini’s agent – Marco de Marchi - has claimed Rodgers made contact yesterday morning to try and lure the 20-year-old back to the Liberty – hours after Liverpool had also made a play for the exciting young star. De Marchi said:
We need to get Brendan a calendar that sends him an alert a week before he has scheduled himself to do something. To miss out on getting him here on both attempts!! And if Roma have the option to buy him for just over £6 million they will get a nice little bargain. Fingers crossed he doesn't play much and they don't exercise the option.
To heck with the vote of confidence .... If we could have gotten him we should have .... The kids a diamond ... But, a day late and perhaps a dollar short, which is why the agent pursued the Roma deal instead of coming back to us first. Thinking about this, his agent is really harvesting some pretty nice compensation on all these deals he's stringing together - I think that that rather than what's in Borini's best interests might be driving all of this - a cynical view admittedly.
