http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7931625/ Fabio Borini admits he is 'desperate to get started' at Liverpool after cutting short his summer break to settle into new surroundings. The Italy international became Brendan Rodgers' first signing as Reds boss when he completed a switch from Roma. He has worked with Rodgers before at Chelsea and Swansea, but appreciates that it will take time to get to know his new team-mates and the intricacies of their game. For that reason, Borini was only too happy to return to pre-season training ahead of schedule and give himself the best possible preparation for the start of the 2012/13 campaign. "I chose to come early because I think it's important to be with the team, especially because I'm a new player," the 21-year-old told the club's official website. "I could have had a month but I didn't play at the Euros. "I chose to come early to get used to the team and adapt more quickly. I am desperate to get started." Borini admits Rodgers' presence at Anfield helped to lure him back to English football and he has full faith in the Ulsterman's ability to bring success to the red half of Merseyside. "First of all he is a good person outside of football, and it's important to work with good people," he said. "As a manager he is great. He knows what he is going to do every single day, he is very organised. "You can see at the training ground, he gets there early and he really wants to work and improve every day. "I think he is the kind of manager players love to play for. I love to play for him. "We are very close. When he was working at Swansea, he'd text after I scored twice, and I'd text when he achieved good results with Swansea, when he beat the big teams. "It's a good relationship as a friend, as human beings, and then as a working relationship." --------------------------------------- Always nice to hear when a player has a high level of respect for his gaffer. Hopefully it can translate onto the pitch. And it's a nice sign that he cut short his holiday to join up with the team - seems like a good professional.
Good attitude, he didn't play so is not knackered. Maybe some others should have had the same attitude. How many games did Downing play in?
I like this guys attitude already, hopefully his goal scoring can match his attitude and we will have a top player for the future.
How would you know? Good words from the lad, let's hope he can help improve our goals scored column this year
My 2nd half of the fantasy league...that sort of determination is going to sink you in the coming season.
Christ, has he got bed bugs? You want to get that sorted pronto before it spreads to the other rooms.
I think he should feature tonight, if just for a little bit. He didn't play during Euros and would love to get in to face his old team. I think Aqua will be well up for this as well seeing as he was Roma through and through not too long ago.
They just bought two CM. Michael Bradley from Chievo ( Amurrica) and a greek kid ( I think) who was really impressive in their game against some polish side. ( Youtube his goal against them, it was in Chicago at Wrigley field, not even going to attempt to spell the polish team name!!)
That's encouraging! Perhaps we may be 'stuck' with Aqua after all, which wouldnt be so bad! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18984391 £10m + loan deal for Shelvey has been rejected ...
£10m seems fairly decent offer from our part...but that release clause is why we may have to pay extra. The question is do way pay £5m to have him one season early? If it was £10m + £5m early bird offer I think I'd be alright with that.
