Firstly Borini and a comment attributed to him that the media says rules him out of any long term stay? Does it? All I see is someone stating the situation as it is. He is contracted to Liverpool and is on a season long loan.

"I'll finish my season here and then after that I'll go back to Liverpool because that's my contract"

What happens in the summer is anyone's guess. Will he be happy to go back to reserve team football at Liverpool?

Also, with all the turmoil in Southampton, rumour has it West Ham may be interested in renewing their courtship of Rickie Lambert. I know he is the wrong side of 30 but IMO he is one of those late developers in the shape of SKP and has a good 2 or 3 seasons in his legs. He has always impressed me and is a selfless team player. He is also a goal scorer and current England international. Depending on the deal, I'd go for him.

    Any thoughts on both topics?

I think Borini, quite rightly, would like to make an impact at Anfield, his statement is non-offensive to us, and the lad has a bit of passion for our club, you can see it.

Likelihood is he will be sold by Liverpool, and of he is, we will have a chance, although there will be competition from here and Italy.

I like the lad a lot, a proper grafter with a lot of finesse, and the goals will come I'm certain of it.

Lambert? They are asking £7million so that's a non starter for me, but a smashing player & would offer us much.

Borini will not get a new contract at Liverpool I don,t see him as a prolific goal scorer.
£7m for lambert is a steal considering we paid £5m for Graham and £12m for Fletcher and a proven scorer in the premiership more than this soccooccooocccoocco or however you spell it from South America.
Don,t know why we did not go for Long he is what we need

Borini has grown on me and I love his commitment and passion. I think he is a perfect style of player for the Poyet revolution. I hope something can be done in the summer but as with PP I can't blame the lad for having aspirations higher than us.

£7m for a proven EPL striker like Lambert, who leads the line so well and who scores goals, would be fine for me if he kept us up. If we went down it would not be so. That's the decision facing the club. This lad Scocco can come on loan so I'd let DG go anywhere, sell or allow Ji to leave; let Gardner go and also Vaughan, Diakite and sell Wickham to raise funds and release wages to get them.

You forgot the 6m for Altidore mate. I also think Lambert is a cracking player.

Lambert will not be leaving Southampton.

Nor will any of the major first team players.

All it is is a change of chairman, nothing more.

The only downside to Lambert is his age...I would like to see Borini play a few games as an out and out striker which I believe is his preferred position..

    You sound confident there.

I reckon the club will be in for some major trauma. The new owner (the daughter) wants to sell the club right ? That being the case she would presumably keep her best assets like Shaw / Lallana, but in a short space of time they will go. She may seek to cash in early. If you sold your best players she would get 50 - 60 million.

Shame really as they had set things up nicely for Southampton. They were well run

Id have Lamber tomorrow - cracking player and underestimated.

Erm not a simple though is it? Its not just a cabinet reshuffle is it? The Chairman, for whom the manager has already gone on record stating if he goes I go, seems to have had a massive fall out with the owner (probably over the £70m spending) and a new direction? The owner wants to cash in and sell up but as mentioned earlier, may well want to reap a little play money in the meantime and players are not stupid (mostly anyway) and they will be very concerned at major upheavals and the effect on them personally.

Luckily you have enough points to survive the initial problems but this is a very worrying time at the club after the recent administration issues still haunting the club.

According to ESPN Dozy is struggling cos' Sunderland is struggling, probably some truth in that! Personally I am all for having a clear out as per Cest, and paying to get some quality in, Altidore could be part of that clear out, particularly if some rich patriotic USA MLS owner wants to give us £10m for him, we would even throw Graham is as a make weight. However we must have others lines up!

Poet and co have to try and work their magic on Fletcher as with Johnson. Borini as with Welbeck will go back to Liverpool, particularly if they make the CL
