Has the English games in the Champions League so far been REALLY REALLY boring? Take a look at these results (and 2 latest scores). Arsenal: Marseille (h) 0-0 Marseille (a) 1-0 Olympiakos (h) 2-1 Borussia Dortmund (a) 1-1 Both games against Marseille were dire. Olympiakos was a decent game. Didn't see the Dortmund game Chelsea Genk (a) 1-1 Genk (h) 5-0 Valencia (a) 1-1 Bayer Leverkusen (h) 2-0 Genk (a) was alright. Genk (h) was a mismatch. Can't remember much about the other two games. Man Utd Otelul (h) 1-0 Otelul (a) 2-0 Basel (h) 3-3 Benfica (a) 1-1 All matches were incredibly dull bar the Basel game Man City Valencia (a) 3-0 Valencia (h) 2-1 Bayern Munich (a) 0-2 Napoli (h) 1-1 Nothing really exciting here. Listening to the Valencia game, its more or less one way traffic and hardly the most extravagant football ever played. Does anyone else think that the Champions League (or at least the English involvement) has been REALLY dull this year?
The English teams qualify easily mainly thanks to their no 1 seeding , yet you can see they arn't good enough to take on the big boys barca / Madrid, Unless city get another couple of world class uncup tied players in January, the other three English clubs will be lucky to get to the quarter finals
the champions league group stage for me as a neutral has been reall boring for me. at least last year we had tottenham ripping inter to shreds at WHL and other games to get exited about. the only game which i watched this week with any real interest was the apoel vs porto game, which apoel won 2-1 and lead the group against all the odds. the rest of them, chelsea, arsenal (i switched off that game), man u etc.. very poor TV.
The Champions League is boring - full stop. Needs to go back to a straightforward knockout competition to make every match competitive and give an outsider a chance of winning it.
