I understand Adidas, Nike, etc.... need to sell all sorts of fancy boots but it's getting out of hand. I only wear black boots because I don't style my hair before my Monday night league. Copa Mundials all day for me. What kind do you wear?
I was relatively young when they started to introduce the flashier boots, which was white or red then. It was seen as different, but now it;s quite common. Back then, i regarded anybody wearing them in a hull boys sunday league match as twats who were up their own arse. I just buy the regular black boots- Nike or Adidas. Used to love Puma King boots.
I've always worn just traditional black ones (Though I think I had a red pair of addidas something or others when I was 13) Now I play 6 aside on astro turf it's quite funny to see some of these young kids with pink and yellow astro trainers. Theyr'e usually the gob ****es who do all the moaning, think they are the dogs bollocks....Until you send them flying with a decen shoulder barge.
I tend to wear more colourful ones. Not bright pink or anything but I usually wear white ones with some colour on to make them worth looking at. I've never understood people describing a plain black football boot as 'nice'.
I wear whatever boots a ****ing want, and anyone who don't like 'em come tell me and I'll Ashbee your ****ing kneecaps. Puma Maradonna King or Windsors World of Shoes 6 Stud Specials, I don't matter to me.
I always liked a pair of Diadora. Got a thing for all things Italian. I once went for a dark blue pair, but that's as colourful as I got. Must admit I like these though. Maybe look better without the gold in the sole. please log in to view this image
Do you remember when football boots were actually there to protect your feet rather than be a vanity item? And then all of a sudden we have a rise in upper foot injuries. Spooky.
Don't the modern boots have in-built metatarsal defending technology???? Or is that just bollocks? Boots used to have to be dubbined to **** to get them anywhere near soft. The blisters I had from that, I had a pair of Nike once they were too small but I still squeezed me feet in because they were ****ing excellent.
Had boots like that when I was a kid at school. You had to really dubbin 'em! Nailed-on studs too...if one came off, you were ****ed/lamed!
I can't say that boots reflect anybody's personality. Personally, I love white boots. They're usually more light weight and allow me to utilise my pace more. However, they have no protection nowadays. More players are being paid to wear these boots by the manufacturers as a style of advertisement and some such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Obefemi Martins wear the more lightweight ones for the same reason as myself. I think it's just typical evolution of the modern game which we're all going to have to get to used to I'm afraid.
This takes me back to one PE lesson at school. This kid thought it would be a smart idea to turn out for football wearing his brothers athletics spikes! Fortunately sir spotted it before he could do too much damage.
Billy ball bag , you win first prize for the best boots though in my case there ox blood red with 18 holes .
Puma king for me, roaringtiger is the flash colourful one in our household with a hankering for Adidas f30 in all sorts of colours. Makes me smile though I was watching his team (under 11) at the weekend in a tournament and the display of colourful boots and carefully prepared hair was truly amazing. I got called a flash b*stard at school for getting a pair of Patrick Kevin keegans with 2 orange stripes!
I've got plain dark brown Nike's, never seen anyone else with anything similar. I like them so much, I wear them even though they're a bit too small. Probably why I'm not getting a game...
I'm crap at football and just had a pair of black boots with nailed in studs at school 30 bob specials but good for kicking the opposition players with.
