http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/boost-for-qpr-as-simpson-eyes-return Boost for QPR as Simpson eyes return 21/02/2014 By David McIntyre QPR defender Danny Simpson could be available for selection in a fortnight. Simpson has been out with a back problem but the results of a scan he underwent last week were encouraging. And Rangers are now hopeful that the former Newcastle man will be back in action early next month. Manager Harry Redknapp confirmed: âItâs okay. Heâs improving. A couple of weeks and he could be back. Itâll be good for us to get him back.â Meanwhile, top scorer Charlie Austin is responding well to treatment for a shoulder injury and the club are hopeful he will return in the coming weeks. But Andrew Johnson is still struggling with an ankle injury and will remain sidelined for this weekendâs game at Charlton, where loan signing Ravel Morrison is set to make his debut. ------------------------------------------------------ Some welcome news at last.
Good news Bob & how we miss those two, maybe Charlie will give us an update tomorrow when he's on soccer AM.
Great news. How we have missed Simpson. Hughes is probably a good CB in this league but he is only average at best as a RB.
Hahah made me laugh Good news about Simpson we have missed him. Wonder if we will see Charlie again this season...
Like it !!! We needed some (more) good news !! Agree moving Hughes to CB once Danny returns, will solidify our defence, and gives options of resting our ageing CBs. Onwards and upwards.
Well, according to McIntyre, the club are hoping he will return in a few weeks. If that's accurate, then we will see him in April with a bit of much needed luck.
Yes please Charlie and Danny but not if you're going to injury yourself more by coming back too early.
True. Also, I'm not a massive Simpson fan. although he is certainly our best right back, so I don't think his return will decide our fate. Charlie's return definitely could be the decided, but he would be under huge pressure and usually players need a few games before they can get back to what they were before. His return to form could well be a bit too late.
Interested as to why your not a fan Col? Admirer of your posts on here but have noted your not a fan of either Simpson or Phillips, which I personally thinks mental. On topic, huge boost for us to get Danny back. As I mentioned in a previous thread he's the type of player who you miss more when he's not playing, which has been proven during his current injury layoff. Mr consistent without a doubt
QPR defender Danny Simpson could be available for selection in a fortnight. Yes please, I will have some of that!
We've definitely missed him. He's not very good at going forward and always passes sideways or back but he certainly makes a stable defence. The proof is in the pudding. Sadly, BAE is currently very inconsistent. He needs to get his head down and focus. And possibly get back to basics rather than trying to walk the ball out of our area or trying to embarrass opposing players, which he can't seem to do currently. Back to bread and butter, I say. I'd rather see him hoof the ball to their goalkeeper than fiddle around with it at the back.
I'm certainly a fan of Phillips, although I wasn't convinced about him when he first signed. I still think he has a lot more potential, but I'm definitely a fan. As for Danny, I like him and admire his attitude. We certainly looked better at the back when he was playing. However, I'm just not too convinced about his attacking prowess, which is such a big part of the modern full back's game. Also, he was looking very hesitant in the last few weeks before his injury, but everyone is entitled to a loss of form.
Perhaps the back injury I read he'd been carrying a while? I agree with your observations about Danny - bring back Bos right !!
This is great news. How many goals have we let in when simpson has not played. As for Charlie coming back. I think he will struggle to get back into the team. Hahahaha
