Jamie McCombe back at the gate next season.Gave his all for the cause, should get a good reception.

Doncaster Rovers defender Jamie McCombe has targeted an instant return to the Championship.

McCombe, 31, sidelined for most of last season due to a back injury, sees no reason why Doncaster cannot bounce straight back following relegation - a feat they achieved two years ago.

The former Huddersfield man, who played 35 times for Rovers when they won promotion to the Championship in 2013, told the club's official website: "After last season, everyone has come back with a point to prove so hopefully we can hit the ground running.

"It would be great to replicate what happened two years ago when we were champions of League One.

"Every club wants to get promoted but with the squad we've got and the quality of football we know we can play, our aim has to be to bounce straight back.

"It's great to be able to take part this year, it's a really good feeling to be back."

Loved his overhead goal against Hull.
Great workhorse and I wish him all the best. Part of the 'golden' side of 2008.
