Looking at the odds for the forthcoming Championship, I cannot help but wonder how Florist who finished 1 point above us, and who have sacked their manager and made no big name signings, are considered by Coral to be 7th (yes 7th) favourites for the title at 12-1, whilst we are 4th bottom on the list at 80/1. i think this just proves that bookies only look at the name of the club, and not recent form!! Just checked the odds to get relegated, we are 3rd favourites at 5/2!! They are almost as biased to the 'bigger' clubs as Sky.
Yes it is weird how out of everyone in the bottom 10 last year, we seem to be the only ones making decent signings, and if we get Gerrard, Wilson, Buzsaky and Baldock, we should be well clear of the bottom 3 and in consideration for top 10!
Simply RUBBISH we will not get relagated nor will we be anywhere near bottom three on what I have seen so far,
The bookies odds are created by punters puting their money where their mouth is, not by emitting a load of hot air!
Forest have new (rich) owners and money to spend. Doesn't mean that they'll be successful though. I'd be over the moon with another 1-0 win on the opening day
Really looking forward to this season, just think the tide has turned, the last two seasons still bought the STs but was not looking forward to it. This year the buzz is back, lets hope we can see some quality football under Del boy.
Forest have a big fan base, alongside ex prem clubs who bet on their own teams. Put more money on something the odds drop. Hence when someone chucked loads of cash at the bookies for Martin O'Neal to be our manager his odds dropped to 2-1 or less. If we all put a bit of money on City our odds will drop, it's the bookies way of protecting themselves if it happens.
On that basis then ROD, I can only conclude that people in Nottingham have far more money than sense. LOL
