Did anyone else get the impression bonys celebraion of his first goal against villa seemed to say "IM STAYING HERE"?
I think his pointing to the floor gesture was Wilf singing that well know Nancy Sinatra song "these boots are made for scoring" or of course it could be a message to our neighbours - something about going down I think!
I believe it actually means something personal to him rather than he's staying. Because it's highly likely he won't be imo.
Yes I got that message too, he's done it a few times through the season when there has been a need to state his intent, I think that when he reads in the media he's going, he attempts to rebut it, and recently Ben Davies has been in the media hinting that he is going, personaly I think we will do very well to keep him, having Huw in the driving seat helps as he will put a huge bounty on his head, lets hope he stays, but it will be tough!................
I'd be amazed if Bony is here next season, ecstatic but amazed. European football was a huge draw and I'm sure I read (or heard) it was one of the reasons he chose to move to Swansea over other teams in the Prem. As much as I like (love) Wilfred and want him to stay, he deserves to be playing at the highest level. That said I think he genuinely feels the love and no matter what will always have affection for Swansea. Now if only ML had stayed …..
Its the same every season, players come and players go and players stay. We will have to wait and see who turns up in July for pre season and don't worry if bony is not there as its custom that players who have been on international duty don't report back the same time they get an extra week or two rest.... I can imagine now the surmising that will go on when the players report back and bony is missing...
I think we can thank Bony for keeping us in the Premiership for another season, his goals have been priceless. Without European football I can't see him staying with us but hopefully Huw Jenkins will open his chequebook once again in the summer and find an adequate replacement.
Unless a £25million plus bid comes in, I see Bony with us,as Huw is a genius in squeezing every last penny out of clubs and we are in a financial position where we don't need to sell.
I see that logic. We could 'do a Suarez' and fight to keep him. However I seriously doubt our Chairman will turn down a massive bid that means we earn over £10M profit. Do you?
If we are resigned to losing him it would be best to wait until after the World Cup where his value will go up no doubt.
No sure about that DG. Drogba is still the Ivorians' main man I think and I'm not sure Bony will see that much action. I hope he does in one way because he deserves it but part of me hopes he stays on the bench!
why would we sell Bony regardless of the amount? he is going nowhere unless for a huge amount eg 40-50 mill which will never happen
There's probably some kind of release clause in his contract stating that he is allowed to negotiate with other clubs if a bid meets a certain criteria. I'd imagine there's also a clause for failing to qualify for European football again and possibly for if we got relegated. That's just the modern game.
